My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

As someone who majored in anthropology in college, I've always found people to be fascinating. My enthusiasm for understanding people and what makes them unique led me to a career in medicine.  As your primary care doctor, my objective is to tailor a more personalized approach to better fulfill your individual health needs.

I believe that being a good doctor means being a good listener. With my unhurried schedule, we will have more time to discuss your symptoms, your concerns and your goals. This communication over the years will help provide both of us the opportunity for a closer and more meaningful relationship. With my patients, I emphasize healthy habits as the first step to help prevent chronic conditions. If illness does occur, I will be reachable after hours and on weekends, and thanks to the comprehensive screenings that comprise the MDVIP Wellness Program, we may be able to intervene earlier, helping to minimize the consequences. Similar to concierge medicine practices, I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments. Thus, in today's increasingly complex landscape of fragmented healthcare delivery, I wish to serve as your constant guide.

I enjoy the challenge of diagnosing and treating a wide variety of conditions that the practice of internal medicine encompasses. My special interests include management of hypertension, thyroid disorders and osteoporosis.

With many years of experience practicing in Marietta, I have developed relationships with specialists in both the Piedmont Healthcare and Wellstar Healthsystems. My practice is conveniently located near Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center and is easily accessible from multiple locations near Marietta, Kennesaw, Acworth, Smyrna, Roswell, Woodstock and the many communities in East Cobb and West Cobb county.

I met Dr. Kakarala upon my relocation to Georgia in 2021. From the moment I met Dr. Kakarala I was immediately impressed with her knowledge, listening skills, professionalism, and sincere care for her patients. A year or so ago I began experiencing pain with several joints in my fingers and toes and after her examination of the joints, she gave me the name of a rheumatologist and encouraged me… See more

I can talk Dr.kakarala about anything. She is very patient caring, and cares about her work. You can tell she really cares about her patients. She is more than just a medical doctor to me. Ever since I started going to her, I haven't needed a therapist. I really appreciate her.

from World in GA February 16, 2024 for Meena H. Kakarala, MD

Dr K has served as the primary care physician for my wife and I for several years. We have felt a sense of peace and comfort with her. In many respects, she is a Friend and Family member to us. Even as we have traveled extensively, we have always felt the need to keep our relationship with Dr. K. She is a 5 Star physician.

from Roy in GA January 18, 2024 for Meena H. Kakarala, MD

Dr. Kakarala took over from our previous primary care provider, Dr. Ollins. From our first meeting, (4th Quarter 2023), Dr. Kakarala exhibited several very admirable traits. Dr. Kakarala is very attentive to our needs and conditions and very knowledgeable, courteous and explains the details in terms that are understandable.

My wife had a condition last year (2023) around Christmas… See more
