About Beau J. Ellenbecker, DO

I have practiced family medicine in the Roanoke and Southlake region for fifteen years. I was drawn to medicine because I love the science behind how the human body works, and just as much because I love building real relationships with the people I care for — partnering with them in their health journey rather than simply addressing whatever brings them in that day. As an MDVIP-affiliated physician in Southlake, Texas, I have the time to build those relationships the way they were meant to be built through genuine conversation, careful listening, and a real understanding of who my patients are, not just what their chart says.

My approach starts with a simple idea: I want to know the whole patient, not just the symptoms in front of me. Health is not only physical. It reflects a person's habits, relationships, mindset, and daily choices. I look at the whole picture- mind, body, and spirit- because change rarely comes from addressing one piece in isolation.
I intentionally keep my patient panel small. This allows me the time to invest in fewer, deeper relationships rather than move quickly through many brief visits. I see myself as a guide and a partner in my patients' health journeys, someone who helps them understand their options and supports the daily effort that meaningful change requires. The work itself belongs to my patients; my role is to walk alongside them.
I find real satisfaction in watching a patient make a life-changing improvement in their health, built on their own initiative and the guidance we develop together.

I have a particular interest in obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and preventive medicine, and I stay engaged with emerging research and evolving developments in primary care. I also draw on my experience as a former U.S. Army physician, having completed a family medicine residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu and a deployment to Afghanistan, which shaped my opinions on resilience, discipline, and steady, consistent habits.

My office location is in Southlake, Texas, where I welcome patients from Roanoke, Southlake, and the surrounding North Texas communities. I maintain an affiliation with Baylor Scott & White Medical Center — Grapevine.

My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers conveniences such as same- or next-day appointments with minimal waiting, direct communication with me for emergent or urgent matters, and a comprehensive wellness program.

Outside the office, I spend my time with my wife and two children, and enjoy cooking, traveling, reading, and following football and hockey. If this approach to medicine resonates with you, I would welcome the opportunity to work with you toward your health goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
