About Elliot Schnur, MD
Working for years in family practice has not been “just a job or career”; it has been my joy and passion. What I find most rewarding is getting to know my patients and their families over time, understanding not only their medical histories, but also the people, experiences, and circumstances that shape their lives. I believe that the best medical care begins with listening, building trust, and developing a genuine partnership with each patient.
I have been practicing family medicine in Bucks County since 1995. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to the traditional values of family medicine: knowing my patients well, providing comprehensive care, emphasizing prevention and wellness, and being there when they need me. I bring to each patient encounter the experience I have gained over more than 30 years in medicine, along with compassion, careful listening, and a commitment to treating each patient as an individual.
As primary care medicine has evolved, I became increasingly concerned that the demands of a traditional practice made it progressively difficult to provide the kind of personal, unhurried care that I believe patients deserve. This led me to affiliate with MDVIP and establish a smaller, more personalized primary care practice in the Newtown/Langhorne area.
The MDVIP model allows me to spend more time with my patients—to listen carefully, discuss concerns in depth, and work together to develop a healthcare plan that is tailored to their individual needs and goals. I believe good medicine is not simply about treating illness when it occurs. It is about anticipating health challenges, identifying risks early, and helping patients make informed decisions that can lead to a healthier and more fulfilling life.
Preventive care is an important part of my practice. I have particular interests in cardiovascular health, diabetes, hypertension, nutrition, exercise, and disease prevention. My practice also provides comprehensive health assessments, advanced screening and diagnostic testing, and convenient availability to care. Patients can reach me after hours and schedule same- or next-day appointments that start on time and are unrushed.
Most importantly, I want my patients to feel that they have a physician who knows them, listens to them, and is genuinely invested in their health. My professional and caring staff and I strive to create an office environment where patients feel comfortable, respected, and at home.
I am proud to have served the Bucks County community for more than three decades, caring for generations of patients and their families. I currently serve on the medical staff of St. Mary Medical Center and Doylestown Health, and I welcome patients from Newtown, Langhorne, Yardley, Doylestown, Jamison, and communities throughout Bucks County.
My goal is simple: to provide personalized, thoughtful, and comprehensive primary care that I would want for myself and my own family.

Reviews from the web
Although the MDVIP membership initially seemed expensive, the benefits absolutely justify the cost. The annual screening is far more comprehensive than a typical primary care visit and includes evaluations for cardiovascular health, lung function, hearing, and more—all done conveniently in one office. As a working parent with a busy travel schedule, this level of coordinated care is invaluable. The membership also includes direct access to Dr. Schnur via text, which provides tremendous peace of mind.
I come from a family of healthcare professionals (nurse, physician, pharmacist), and what we value most is that Dr. Schnur is compassionate, nonjudgmental, evidence-based, and practices shared decision-making. I trust him fully with both chronic and acute issues, and he appropriately refers to specialists when needed.
Unlike many transactional practices, Dr. Schnur builds real relationships with his patients. He personally follows up after specialist visits or surgeries, which speaks to how much he truly cares. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking an exceptional primary care physician.o
Definitely worth the drive from Center City Philly. My appointment started right on time and the staff and facility were great.
If you are considering using Dr. Schnur at MDVIP I recommend it highly.
The doctor is young enough to understand and treat today’s health issues, yet he has plenty of battlefield experience and knowledge that can only be gained through years of practice.
When I fly I always look in the cockpit when entering the plane, praying at least one of the pilots has gray hair and lots of experience.
Think Sully.
I get that comfort level with Dr. Schnur.
I appreciate that he cares and is very good at what he does.
As I've aged over the past decade, he has skilfully managed my hypertension and diabetes by carefully monitoring through the years, He keeps me abreast of my condition and options and because of this, I've never had the need to visit specialists or an Emergency Room.
If you are looking for a no-nonsense approach to health care, you've found it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
