About Elliot Schnur, MD

Working for years in family practice has not been “just a job or career”; it has been my joy and passion.  What I find most rewarding is getting to know my patients and their families over time, understanding not only their medical histories, but also the people, experiences, and circumstances that shape their lives. I believe that the best medical care begins with listening, building trust, and developing a genuine partnership with each patient.

I have been practicing family medicine in Bucks County since 1995. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to the traditional values of family medicine: knowing my patients well, providing comprehensive care, emphasizing prevention and wellness, and being there when they need me. I bring to each patient encounter the experience I have gained over more than 30 years in medicine, along with compassion, careful listening, and a commitment to treating each patient as an individual.

As primary care medicine has evolved, I became increasingly concerned that the demands of a traditional practice made it progressively difficult to provide the kind of personal, unhurried care that I believe patients deserve. This led me to affiliate with MDVIP and establish a smaller, more personalized primary care practice in the Newtown/Langhorne area.

The MDVIP model allows me to spend more time with my patients—to listen carefully, discuss concerns in depth, and work together to develop a healthcare plan that is tailored to their individual needs and goals. I believe good medicine is not simply about treating illness when it occurs. It is about anticipating health challenges, identifying risks early, and helping patients make informed decisions that can lead to a healthier and more fulfilling life.

Preventive care is an important part of my practice. I have particular interests in cardiovascular health, diabetes, hypertension, nutrition, exercise, and disease prevention. My practice also provides comprehensive health assessments, advanced screening and diagnostic testing, and convenient availability to care. Patients can reach me after hours and schedule same- or next-day appointments that start on time and are unrushed.

Most importantly, I want my patients to feel that they have a physician who knows them, listens to them, and is genuinely invested in their health. My professional and caring staff and I strive to create an office environment where patients feel comfortable, respected, and at home.

I am proud to have served the Bucks County community for more than three decades, caring for generations of patients and their families. I currently serve on the medical staff of St. Mary Medical Center and Doylestown Health, and I welcome patients from Newtown, Langhorne, Yardley, Doylestown, Jamison, and communities throughout Bucks County.

My goal is simple: to provide personalized, thoughtful, and comprehensive primary care that I would want for myself and my own family.

Best blood test I’ve ever had. Did not feel it at all! And a very pleasant interaction overall too.

Dr. Schnur and his staff have been wonderful to work with. They are attentive, genuinely concerned, and always take the time to listen to my questions and concerns. I appreciate how passionate they are about providing quality care, and they consistently make me feel comfortable and heard. On top of that, everyone in the office is friendly and easy to talk to, which makes each visit a positive experience.

Dr. Schnur has been my primary care physician for over 10 years and I wouldn't want to see anyone else. He genuinely cares about his patients and their families. He is extremely thorough and practices preventative medicine which is important to me as I've aged into my 30s. Love that he values evidence based medicine and uses the most up-to-date guidelines while still personalizing care. He always follows up on outcomes and personally calls you with test results. I really love the new office - it's a one stop shop where I can get my appointment, bloodwork, and testing all in the same place. He's the best!!!

My experience with the office manager was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. The interaction felt inappropriate and uncomfortable, and it raised serious concerns about how patients are treated at this practice. Because of this experience, I would not feel confident returning and would strongly encourage others to carefully consider alternative options when choosing their care.

I have nothing but praise for Dr. Schnur and his team. I’ve been his patient for over five years, and my father and sister have seen him for more than a decade. I recently convinced my husband to join Dr. Schnur’s practice as well.

Although the MDVIP membership initially seemed expensive, the benefits absolutely justify the cost. The annual screening is far more comprehensive than a typical primary care visit and includes evaluations for cardiovascular health, lung function, hearing, and more—all done conveniently in one office. As a working parent with a busy travel schedule, this level of coordinated care is invaluable. The membership also includes direct access to Dr. Schnur via text, which provides tremendous peace of mind.

I come from a family of healthcare professionals (nurse, physician, pharmacist), and what we value most is that Dr. Schnur is compassionate, nonjudgmental, evidence-based, and practices shared decision-making. I trust him fully with both chronic and acute issues, and he appropriately refers to specialists when needed.

Unlike many transactional practices, Dr. Schnur builds real relationships with his patients. He personally follows up after specialist visits or surgeries, which speaks to how much he truly cares. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking an exceptional primary care physician.o

I have been a patient of Dr. Schnur for over 15 years. This was my first visit to his new MDVIP office in Newtown/Langhorne. Convenient location with plenty of parking.

Definitely worth the drive from Center City Philly. My appointment started right on time and the staff and facility were great.

If you are considering using Dr. Schnur at MDVIP I recommend it highly.
The doctor is young enough to understand and treat today’s health issues, yet he has plenty of battlefield experience and knowledge that can only be gained through years of practice.

When I fly I always look in the cockpit when entering the plane, praying at least one of the pilots has gray hair and lots of experience.
Think Sully.

I get that comfort level with Dr. Schnur.
I appreciate that he cares and is very good at what he does.

Dr Schnur has been my physician for 30 years. He is excellent and I can highly recommend him. When he decided to move to the new concierge service I was not sure if the added expense was justifiable. As it turns out this is the best thing I have done. The added level of attention to detail is worth every cent and more. The most valuable thing you have is your health and this is one area you don't want to skimp on.

I was referred to Dr. Schnur after what would be called being medically neglected or abused by countless other doctors. He and his staff far exceed the professionalism and compassion of others. He may not agree with everything you think but he and his staff listen and respond respectfully with not just options but also, and imagine this in today’s world, TIMELY. His office has never had more than 2 patients in his waiting room which represents so much to someone like me. His/their professionalism and experience is priceless to me. I’ll follow them wherever they go.

I've been a patient of Dr Schnur for over 17 years and he has always been there for me. He has treated me medically with compassion and understanding. When necessary he didn't hesitate to refer me to another physician if I needed specific treatment. You will be missed, good luck in the future. Charlie

I have nothing but praise for Dr Schnur. Very sad that he is closing his practice, but knowing how hard he has worked, he deserves the break. Wishing him all the best in his future endeavors.

I have been going to Dr Schnur for almost 8 years and I adore him and his staff. He is always clear and concise and attentive, and I have absolute trust in his care. He walked me through a cancer diagnosis (found it and insisted that I go get seen right away and called the hospital that day to get me an ultrasound). He is a very trusted part of my medical team and his staff is lovely as well.

I've been seeing Dr. Schnur since 2010. He is very knowledgeable, and I feel very comfortable under his care. He listens and provides pragmatic advice.

As I've aged over the past decade, he has skilfully managed my hypertension and diabetes by carefully monitoring through the years, He keeps me abreast of my condition and options and because of this, I've never had the need to visit specialists or an Emergency Room.

If you are looking for a no-nonsense approach to health care, you've found it.

Dr Schnur was my doctor for a little over a year. I had no problem with him at first but slowly he started, getting annoyed that I would go to the hospital for as he quoted “small stuff” and said I was wasting the doctors at the hospitals time. I don’t go to the hospital for small stuff. I go to the hospital when I noticed something is out of the ordinary that I am experiencing. One of the things that I went to the hospital for was abdominal pain. Doctors nurse said I was probably constipated and to just let it pass. Well, the pain got worse so I went to the ER and I ended up my appendix removed!!! Also, he was pressuring me to get my Covid vaccine because he said that the Covid vaccine 100% prevents Covid and I told him it does not, and he argued with me. I got my Covid vaccine in 2021 and I got Covid for the second time the following Year in 2022. But the one thing that pisses me off, the most was that he diagnosed me with an underactive via routine blood work. I had a feeling that wasn’t right, and I switched doctors. My new current Dr. looked at those results and said word for word “ I don’t know why he diagnosed you with an underactive thyroid because your thyroid levels are not low enough to be officially considered an underactive thyroid.” HOW DO YOU GIVE A WRONG DIAGNOSIS TO A PATIENT?? so glad I switched doctors!

Great office, always kind and professional. I can appreciate the fact that the waiting room is always empty, so they know how to manage your waiting time correctly.

I’ve moved a lot over the years, living the in the states and abroad. It’s very difficult to find a good Doctor Who will listen to you patiently. He is not judgmental, but will work with you to find a solution of your choice. Much appreciated. I feel lucky to have found Dr. Elliot Schnur.

My husband was a patient here. Dr. Schnur is very rude and condescending with his patients. My husband had a severe sinus infection and he was out of the office “sick” and his office instructed us to go to patient first! When he then saw my husband the next day he was SO RUDE! My husband was ready to tell him off but he kept his cool! Don’t waste your time with this joker with NO personality or knowledge of real medicine!

Ridiculous that you have to have a covid test to get an appointment even if your fully vaccinated , to get tested ,you call a testing center that puts you on hold for up to 90 minutes

Nasty rude staff, through the phone, left a voice message and never get back to me, i tried to call and get to talk to them and they said they got my voice message and they would get back to me in shortly, and also commanding that :" DO NOT CALL EMERGENCY NUMBER" so i said oh ok, I'm sorry but i didn't how to get to you but they just ignored and thats it. Either they never get back to me after that.

Dr. Schnur is a hopeful breath of fresh air. I have lived in Doylestown area for 28 years. I have experienced some very mediocre doctors, and a very inept hospital. Dr. Schnur is a very thoughtful, well prepared man who see his patients health as a personal challenge to improve, rather than a financial opportunity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
