About Kenny Khoa Vu, MD
Medicine has been deeply rooted in me since I was young. When escaping from war-torn Vietnam when I was about eight years old, I became ill from a variety of causes, including malnutrition, poor living conditions and minimal availability of health services. I learned from my childhood experience and followed a medical pathway in my career. I strongly believe in preventive care and maintenance as means to help prevent illnesses and disorders, which could lead to chronic complications or potentially decrease one's life expectancy.
Taking care of generations of families is important to me. I believe in a holistic approach to medicine. I believe in self-care and leading a healthier lifestyle myself, and I hope that inspires my patients to do the same.
The changes in the healthcare system prompted me to refine the scope of my practice and affiliate with MDVIP years ago. The model has allowed me to spend more time with patients, which I feel is an essential factor in my goal of listening deeply and discussing with patients all their concerns during an appointment.
I can discuss with patients various concerns, including hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular diseases, asthma, COPD, dermatologic diseases (such as skin cancer and skin lacerations), depression, anxiety, behavior issues and some orthopedic problems (such as arthritis and muscle strains). In the office, I can also perform skin biopsies, minor wound repair, and other procedures.
My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices. I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments with minimal waiting and the MDVIP Connect patient portal. My patients have the opportunity to contact me after hours for more urgent medical needs. I also offer telehealth visits and, on occasion, home visits.
I serve the communities of Dover, Camden, Milford, Middletown, Smyrna, Magnolia, Kent County and Chestertown, Maryland.
Since my affiliation with MDVIP, I have found that many patients are more in tune with their bodies and health. It has been my honor to partner with them as they pursue improved health and quality of life. It is very satisfying to hear when my patients are happier and actively engaging in their health. I am always grateful for how much they have opened up their lives to me, and I look forward to their next visit.

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
