About Patricia J. Roy, DO
To the average person, the medical world can be confusing, intimidating and even frightening. As your personal physician, it’s my job to guide you through the ever‐changing maze of medical information, to treat your present illnesses and perhaps most importantly, to give you the factual information you need to help you stay healthy. I believe I can do this most effectively by being affiliated with MDVIP. I reduced my patient load considerably so I can spend more time with each patient and perform a thorough review of past treatments and procedures. My MDVIP-affiliated practice, often compared to a concierge medicine practice, also offers conveniences like same- or next-day appointments. I look forward to getting to know you as an individual and working as a team to help you set goals for maintaining or improving your health and better preventing future problems.
In addition to my passion for prevention and wellness, I have a strong interest in Travel and Wilderness Medicine. I love to use that knowledge for myself and share it with patients to assure safe and healthy travels. I have lived in Muskegon all my life and have been practicing at the same location for over 35 years. As such, I have long‐term relationships with many specialists in our area. And while I believe that laughter is good medicine and lightens the load, I take my job as your personal physician very seriously.

2016 my daughter was diagnosed with cancer. She was the only doctor through her illness that she trusted. When I did not know what to do I would call the office and they would help me. Best physician I have ever worked with. Dr. Roy has a comprehensive and holistic approach to care. She is always willing to work with my husband and I on what strategies we want to take when it comes to our health. She is kind, and her staff keep us on track! She is a part of this MDVIP program which can feel a bit cost prohibitive, but its been completely worth it.

I had a conversation with Dr Roy about extreme sleepiness. She encouraged me to go back to using my cpap which I had given up for ever ago. I was so tired I was not even able to drive any distance. I started to use my cpap again and was able to eventually drive a one and a half hour trip to see my youngest granddaughter dance in the state competition. Had I not restarted the cpap I would have missed out on this beautiful experience. Dr Roy is a wonderful physician. I feel grateful to have found her.

I LOVE Dr. Roy and her staff. I met her over 30 years ago and have been a patient of hers for all of this time except the 10 years I was in the Seattle area. I actually wanted to continue to go to her ... fly home to Michigan to see her because I was unable to find the same care in the Seattle area. She listens to her patients and forms a plan to help us reach our wellness goals. I like that her practice is more about prevention and care than "fixing what goes wrong". She is always there for issues but her goal is to help you avoid them by staying well. Coming back to her practice after moving back to Michigan was one of my favorite parts of my move home.

Dr. Roy has been the most amazing physician I have ever had. I have had the privilege of being a patient of hers for almost 20 years. She has gotten me through some of the darkest and toughest moments of my life. She and her staff have never rushed me through an appointment, they have always seen me in a timely fashion, mopped up my tears, held my hand or given me a shoulder to cry on when I needed it. I have now lived in Grand Rapids for 7 years , and I still drive to Muskegon to continue to see Dr. Roy and her staff. I will continue to be a patient of Dr. Roy, as long as she is in practice. I trust her with my life!

Dr. Roy has been my PCP for a number of years. One of the things I really like is that she is tactful but honest with me regarding my care and conditions. She is very empathetic and caring. If I were not a patient of hers, I'd like to be a personal friend. She is honest and so happy being a doctor!

I have found this experience to be well worth the money. As I am aging, it is important to me to be proactive about my health. The MDVIP doctor and her staff have actively displayed their abilities and desires to match my own. They are attentive to any and all health concerns that I communicate and are very helpful in suggesting other age related factors that I should be looking at in my quest to remain as healthy as possible in my older years. Everyone from the front desk to the doctor is kind and very informed. I have found MDVIP to be the best investment I could make for my personal health at this point in my life.

Dr. Roy is an amazing physician, knowledgeable and kind, and her support team is also great. I have been her patient for many years, and decided to give the new MDVIP program a try. The MDVIP Wellness Health Assessment is very thorough, and is reviewed by the Cleveland Heart Lab. Because of the more stringent risk categories and the additional tests included with the assessment we were able to identify and address emerging issues. Overall the experience was excellent, and I highly recommend Dr. Roy and her team.

The relationship that you have with your primary care physician is so important to your health and well being and becoming a part of the MDVIP wellness program only enhances this. I have been going to Dr Roy for over 30 years. They always "fit" me in if I have an emergency. I love that they have early hours as well as late hours a day or so each week. Very accommodating. Dr always takes time to be sure I understand what is going on with my health and how to make things better. I did learn a lot with the MDVIP testing. Love this office!!!!

I chose Dr. Roy, and her practice, for my primary care more than 30 years ago and I have been thankful ever since. She and her staff are thorough, efficient and caring and that has not changed since the switch to MDVIP. My husband has been going to Dr. Roy’s office for years and I switched over to her this year. I was excited to go through the assessment process with Dr. Roy’s new MDVIP practice. What an amazing process! It was very thorough and the results were so much more helpful than having a typical physical. Dr.Roy went over the results, explained everything and we developed a plan to improve in my areas of concern.

Wow! The Wellness Health Assessment given through Dr. Roy’s office, and analyzed by Cleveland Clinic was amazingly thorough. I know because Dr. Roy explained the results in great detail, and now I have instituted a plan to address the issues that have been identified. I have been a patient of Dr. Roy's practice for over 30 years. I think I was one of her original patients as I was looking for a new doctor about the time she opened her practice. My two children and my husband were also patients. I say were because both of my kids are now adults and have moved out of Muskegon. Dr. Roy has always given me the best care, and every year at my annual exam she has always had a suggestion that improved my life. We decided to go with MDVIP as we did not feel like we wanted to give up our relationship with a doctor that we have known and trusted for years. I recently had my MDVIP Wellness Visits, and for the first time in my life I got really specific information about what I need to do to improve my quality of life. I believe it was from all of the extra information she was able to gain from the Cleveland Clinic labs and my wellness information. I have been very pleased so far. Do I like paying the MDVIP fee? No, but I am reaping the benefits. My husband had his first part of the wellness visit and has his second visit coming up. I will be anxious to see what he learns.

Best staff and family doc in the area. If you are an older patient, Dr. Roy and her staff are on top of all of the health issues that are more likely to be experienced as we age. I love that there is a connection to The Cleveland Clinic’s research and current treatments for heart health among other medical concerns of the older patient. My health has improved 100% by working with Dr Roy, her staff and the MDVIP model that taps into The Cleveland Clinic.

Not currently a patient but my daughter is... This is the second letter she is received saying You will have to seek a new physician unless you can give me an extra 1800 dollars a year. This is outrageous to me!

After moving to a new area my physician told me that the combination of medication prescribed by this practice had a high risk for severe and negative drug interactions.
