We switched to Dr. Gentry and we were so impressed even that first day!! Since then he is so attentive and knowledgeable!! He has lowered dosages based on test results. I was concerned about taking Boniva for so long (over 6 years) he immediately got me on the road to start Prolia. Dr. Gentry takes a lot of time to explain results, even to the point of drawing a diagram of the situation which I love because I’m a visual person!! So glad we switched Doctors and since Dr. Gentry was so highly recommended, now we know why!!

Thank You, Dr. Gentry! Today is my birthday, my 84th. It’s an especially happy occasion because just before my 83rd, I found that reaching 84 was no sure thing. A year ago you diagnosed a bile blockage possibly due to a tumor on my pancreas. I realized my expiration date likely had moved up considerably. You quickly arranged ultrasound and CT scans and a consultation with the surgical oncologist. He said the tumor was too large to operate, but that chemo and radiation therapies might shrink it enough for Whipple surgery. He gave me hope that I was a good candidate, despite my 83 years, due to my general health and attitude and lack of detected metastasis. I will forever be thankful to you for recognizing the possible cause of my symptoms, rapidly following up with scans and getting me surgical oncologist attention. I’ve been through chemo, radiation and, finally, Whipple surgery on May 4. It’s been a rough year for me, but so much better than the alternative. My life is more fragile than I used to think, but at present there’s no indication of a recurrence and I have hope for many more good years with my loving wife. Thank You !

I have been a regular patient of Dr Doug Gentry for many years, since soon after he established his practice. Throughout that time, he has regularly helped identify areas of potential concern and recommended adjustments in my diet, exercise, medications, etc., and directed me to top quality specialists when necessary. In 2009, he noted a small but concerning elevation in my PSA and sent me to an excellent urologist who performed a biopsy, confirmed early stage prostate cancer, and allowed me to get a robot-assisted radical prostatectomy a timely manner. In late 2015, in response to pain in my left upper femur, Dr Gentry prescribed X-ray and CAT scans, followed by biopsy that confirmed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, again in a timely manner that enable successful treatment. Having survived cancer twice now as a result of Dr Gentry's perceptive recognition of potential problems and help to get immediate attention, I am alive and clear today of any detectable cancers, able to continue making my own contributions in my teaching and research career.

Dr. Gentry has been my doctor for 32 years. I'm sorry I cannot recall a "moment". Rather it has been a life-long journey, filled with moments, each as good as the rest. I hope he and I are around for many more moments. He's the best doctor, hands down.
