My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

Welcome to my medical practice! My main goal as an internal medicine physician is to create a working, friendly relationship with each of my patients, giving us an opportunity to create a personalized healthcare plan that will enable each patient to become the best version of themselves. I want to help my patients prevent medical problems that are preventable, make an early diagnosis when available, treat the conditions that are unavoidable and help make healthy habits achievable to maintain excellent health.

My MDVIP affiliation opens up doors to the places that I have always wanted to go in the evaluation and treatment of my patients. I am now able to perform a truly comprehensive assessment and devise a detailed health and wellness plan for each person. This type of practice allows more time to treat my patients the way I feel they deserve to be treated. Similar to conveniences often associated with concierge medicine practices, I also offer same- or next-day appointments that start on time. This is the way primary care internal medicine was always supposed to work. Now, it actually does work that way!

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Allen

from Janie in TN March 2, 2024 for Joseph E. Allen II, MD

Dear All,

Hi. Janie Page here. I have been a patient of Dr. Joseph E. Allen, II for years now. I can truthfully say I feel so much better now than when under the care of any other doctor prior to Dr. Allen. Better both mentally and physically; and, also, more secure in my health and in my doctor. More to the point, in 2020, I was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis, unfortunately… See more

Really never thought I would be calling Dr Allen after hours, but I have, and he was always there to provide medical care. When I need to see him for something that was unexpected, I usually was able to see him the same day. He listens, gives you plenty of his time, and I have never had a doctor who was so attentive in managing my medications. Had a tough time with COVID. Dr Allen got me… See more

I have known Dr. Allen for over 30 years, both ,as a patient and as a nurse. He has always impressed me as being easy to communicate with, very thorough, and caring, He accepted my mother as a patient when she could no longer live alone in PA and I had to bring her to Tennessee . He gave her the same type of care and attention, I have always experienced. Since joining MDVIP, he makes… See more

Always listening to people complain about how upsetting it is to wait and wait to reach their dr... or even anyone to return a call from their office!!!!..Dr Allen not only returns calls and texts immediately after office hours, but his amazing staff (Janine and Ashley) does the same during office hours with answers and rx from doctor.
If one called dr. Allen at 4am you can count on him… See more

In 2018 I started falling on the floor without knowing why. I went to Dr. Joseph E. Allen ll office and explained the complications I was experiencing. Dr. Allen informed me he would request test to find out what was causing my faint spells. Dr. Allen did exactly what he said he would do. I applaud Dr. Allen for being a concern Physician regarding his patients.

I suffer from diabetes, migraines & fibromyalgia. After joining MDVIP, Dr. Allen has had more time to research potential treatments that do not always include popular medications or methods. He looks for treatments that have proven results, fewest side effects and lowest costs available. Dr. Allen listens to me, talks to me and responds to me. He responds to texts and emails. He is so… See more

Throughout life I have been fortunate to have the best of medical doctors. Although not in the medical field, I come from a family of doctors.

After my wonderful internist suddenly retired in Memphis area, pursuant to recommendations from colleagues, I met with Dr. Allen and was immediately impressed.

My health is very good, but I always seek a preventative approach to wellness.… See more

I have been with Sanders Clinic for decades. My care there has always been top notch. When Dr. Allen went to the MDVIP model, I quickly signed up. The explanations of what this service entails was exciting to me. What I have found in this new model of medical care has been a thorough and positive way to obtain my healthcare. My healthcare situation is complex. Dr. Allen always answers my… See more

Dr Joseph Allen is a very caring doctor. After 2 hospitalizations he called me everyday to check on me. That made me feel so well cared for. I love the time he is able to devote to patient care with the mdvip program .

I was in a hospital with which Dr. Joseph Allen was not affiliated and did not expect him to visit. Following a day of several tests and no answers, I was becoming irritated that I was still in the hospital. Dr. Allen came to visit me later that same afternoon. His visit was totally unexpected but a boost to my moral. He took the time out of his day to come spend a few minutes with me and… See more
