My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

I truly love caring for my patients and it has been a privilege to do so since taking over my fathers practice in 2002 at the Queens Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. As an internal medicine doctor and endocrinologist, my passion for medicine comes from taking care of the whole patient. The body, mind and spirit are interconnected and each play a vital role in their contributions to overall health. I believe in the healing relationship between a patient and his or her doctor and the importance of open, close communication and positive encouragement.

In my new MDVIP-affiliated practice, you will be warmly welcomed as part of our Ohana. We are committed to providing personal, detailed and organized care. The addition of primary care and the ability to keep my practice small will allow us time for discussion and the development of a specific wellness plan suited just for you.

My areas of interest include Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes mellitus (continuous glucose monitoring sensors and insulin pump therapy), thyroid disorders, osteoporosis as well as pituitary disease. My excellent staff and I are dedicated to delivering the highest quality care and look forward to working with you.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Wong

from Jacqui in HI March 12, 2020 for Lisa L. Wong, MD, FACP

My mom has been Dr. Wong’s patient for years when she was an Endocrinologist. When she became an MDVIP doctor my mom wanted me to become a patient as well to get the best care possible. It was the best decision.

Dr. Wong cares holistically about both of us. She helps us to understand our underlying issues either from our family history or individual needs and to work through them… See more

Dr wong takes great care of me.
I was going on a trip and dropped a brick on my foot. It was swollen and I ignored it hoping it would recover. Finally I went to see dr wong and she said my foot is infected. She gave me antibiotics and I was able to enjoy my trip and walk without pain.
Another time I had come back from a trip and was to leave on another trip. I had terrible… See more

Like most people who are recommended to have two total knee replacement surgeries, I refused. Terrifying concept and I’m too busy to lie down for months.

But along comes sympathetic and kindly Dr Wong, calm and gentle and thorough. A person you don’t want to disappoint. She gets me into see the right doc and it’s history. She’s just lovely.

I was scheduled for hip surgery but my Acc was too high. Dr. Wong encouraged me to lower the A1c. I had my operation and my Acc went down. I was actually normal. Without Dr. Wing's encouragement and support I didn't think I could have a normal A1c . I am higher than normal now, but I know it is possible. Thank you.

from Kyle in HI March 10, 2020 for Lisa L. Wong, MD, FACP

I scheduled a visit to Dr Lisa Wong after a diagnosis of Ulcerative Colitis seeking some advice. My wife and I spoke to her about getting a second opinion on treatment options and our thoughts of visiting Mayo Clinic. She went above and beyond our expectations and contacted them for me. We got a call one week later with instructions on setting up an appointment. We flew out to Rochester MN a… See more

from Patricia February 17, 2019 for Lisa L. Wong, MD, FACP

It has been 1 year since I joined Dr. Lisa Wong as an MDVIP affiliated doctor. My experience has provided access as well as a sense of security. I have adult-onset asthma, which kicks in when I catch a cold. Dr. Wong prescribed the necessary meds and treatments. Still didn't feel well at Christmas. Went to an urgent care facility, was treated with meds. I emailed Dr. Wong just to update… See more
