Michele Martello

General Counsel

Michele Martello is general counsel of MDVIP.

Michele has been an integral part of MDVIP’s team since 2008, when she joined the legal department. In her role as lead counsel, she is focused on removing legal and regulatory burdens that prevent primary care physicians from focusing on being great doctors.

"We’re transforming primary care to allow doctors and patients to focus on preventive medicine, in addition to managing conditions,” Michele says. “We help our physician partners navigate the legal challenges of medicine so they can concentrate on what matters most.”

Michele also leads MDVIP’s compliance and government relations efforts, engaging at the federal level with Congress and advocating on behalf of primary care and MDVIP’s affiliated physicians to influence policy.

Prior to joining MDVIP, Michele was an associate in the Fort Lauderdale office of Broad and Cassel as a member of the firm’s Health Law Practice Group. She is a magna cum laude graduate of the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center, which she attended as a Goodwin Academic Scholar. She also is a summa cum laude graduate of Westminster College with a B.A. in accounting and economics.

Outside of the office, Michele leads a very busy family life with her two children. Additionally, she is a self-proclaimed health fanatic. She greatly enjoys cooking healthy meals for her family as well as running, cycling, hot yoga and strength training. She’s known for encouraging her co-workers to join her at the gym. “I view the ability to exercise as a gift and never a chore. Investing in our own health and wellbeing is never a decision anyone regrets.”
