I had an appointment for a regular check up. Doc was asking several questions about general health etc and had anything changed since my last visit. I said my sister had passed away a few weeks ago. He stopped talking and immediately stood up and gave me a hug and expressed his sympathies. I felt not only was he my doctor but also my friend.
