The power of the patient‐physician relationship cannot be underestimated in one’s healthcare. I hold this fundamental responsibility as paramount in my practice of family medicine. This philosophy is deeply rooted and comes from emulating my grandfather who practiced small town family medicine in rural Pennsylvania. It is ingrained in me that the health of the individual affects the health of our families, and ultimately the health of our community. The beauty and closeness of this Southern Delaware coastal community is what inspired my husband and I to change the course of our young family’s lives and relocate here in 2016, after I practiced at a hospital‐based family medicine group for 9 years in the Reading, Pennsylvania area. My life experiences, not only in the role of physician, but also as mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend, make me sensitive to the many complexities and responsibilities that can affect our overall health.
I view my patients as family, and my goal for your health is to focus on you as a “whole” – mind, body and spirit. I strive to focus on prevention and wellness. I emphasize the importance of diet and lifestyle choices, and how they influence our health and our ability to impact disease prevention. I also work diligently to diagnose and manage both acute and chronic conditions. As an MDVIP‐affiliated physician, I can take the time and energy necessary to develop a personalized care plan to maximize health outcomes for each patient I serve. My goal is to empower you and lead you to be the happiest and healthiest version of yourself.
It is important, now more than ever, to have a primary care doctor who has the time and resources to care for you personally and proactively. Watch this video to hear more.
