Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

When I needed him most, Dr. Barnes took the time to listen to me and get me the help I needed when I didn’t even know I needed it. You see, what we thought was generalized anxiety or depression due to hormones turned out to be a massive brain tumor accidentally discovered when I didn’t wake up from a sudden hysterectomy. Now Dr. Barnes works in collaboration with all the other specialists needed to take care of me. He is my go-to person for decisions about my health along with my husband. He’s only a phone call away when I need support or encouragement. I’m thankful to have him leading my team. He’s genuinely concerned about my health and overall well-being.
Dr. Barnes is very thorough with his yearly examination. He looks at the whole picture of me: physical, emotional, and Relational. Not everyone can see their doctor in a public place like a basketball game and be comfortable enough to give them a hug. He cares about his patients as people, not statistics. I appreciate his respect for the decisions I make about Health. He’s like a farmer who plants seeds to grow in my mind. They either take root and flourish or they wither, but either way he then lets me make informed decisions.

Dr Barnes took over as my Primary Health Physician when his partner Michael Baker retired. I have several chronic health issues and deal with a couple of specialists. I feel very comfortable with Dr Barnes running point and am stunned that I can text him questions anytime about anything and response time is quick.
