About Alicia Coker, MD
I believe the best way to stay healthier is to develop a routine that is both easy to maintain and makes you feel great every time you do it. Unfortunately, many people are so busy these days that they don’t know where or how to start. By joining my MDVIP-affiliated practice, you can take that first step. Unlike most traditional primary care practices that have thousands of patients, I offer a smaller practice size, where you can be a member of a family. My approach is personalized and likely different than anything you may have experienced in the past.
It starts with the annual MDVIP Wellness Program, which can set a starting point and help give us a clearer view of your current health. The results from the Program’s advanced screenings give us a baseline from which we can set realistic goals and work as a team as you pursue improved health.
Plus, I offer same- or next-day visits so we can spend more time together and work to discuss any potential ailments. Another benefit is our on-time policy that allows for minimal waiting so you can continue your busy life. During your healthcare journey, we aim to reach out to you via text to see how you are doing, and we can discuss modifying your goals based on your schedule and stress levels. Our patient portal, MDVIP Connect, can help by offering exercise plans and diet recommendations as you work to stay healthier.
In my practice, I aim to be reachable when you need me. Thank you for reading my approach to your wellness, and we would welcome you to our family.

Reviews from the web
She truly cares about her patients, and it shows in every interaction. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming, which adds to the overall positive experience.
If you're looking for a doctor who combines top-notch expertise with genuine compassion, Dr. Coker is the one. I always leave my appointments feeling well cared for and confident in my health plan. I can’t recommend her enough!
I called Dr. Coker’s office at 4:30 pm Friday to schedule a new patient appointment. I was excited to be a new patient of Dr. Coker’s, especially after reading all of the wonderful things written about her. I was eager to schedule an appointment. The receptionist answered in an annoyed tone as if he were already done for the day, fed up, and could not care to be bothered. I pleaded to allow him to let me schedule an appointment, but he refused me saying I have to wait until Monday and that the office was closed (which according to Google the office closes at 5). He said the reasoning was that I had to make sure my last physical was more than one year ago, which I continued to assure him it was. The fact he refused to schedule me and acted like I was inconveniencing him was upsetting. I wanted to schedule an appointment and have it over with as it was my only chance to call Dr. Coker’s office due to my work hours. I curiously asked, if the office was closed, then why did he answer the phone? In return I got snark comment and he started to criticize me for asking such a question. This short conversation immediately left a bad taste in my mouth, so I proceeding to hang up the phone. There was no need to remain on the line after being refused a visit and criticized on top of that.
The receptionist then proceeded to call me back just to lash out on me and call me rude for hanging up the phone. After belittling me, he told me he will be refusing my application with Dr. Coker and that they won’t accept me as a patient.
Disgraceful and unethical that a doctor would let their practice be ran like this. Shame because Dr. Coker seems like a knowledgeable professional.
The office has its policies, as most offices do, however, the receptionist does a poor (and childish) job at answering/explaining the rationale or logic behind the "why?". The time saved through their policy on punctuality is not worth the time lost through frustration dealing with them.
Fortunately, my insurance provider, united healthcare, has parted ways with this practice so we will not be returning.
Not only will they never own up to their administrative mistakes, they'll manage to blame you for them.
Edit: Just read the recent reviews...looks like "Mark" should be responding with a passive aggressive statement any moment now.
Being seen on-time is such a major plus for me; I have set time throughout my day for different things, and I'm able to plan my day without missing a beat. I enjoy the opportunity to be early to reservations and appointments, and Dr Coker has always made sure I was seen either on-time or on occasion earlier than expected after check-in.
I look forward to continuing to see her as the occasion arrises. Thank you.
I am so glad to have found dr Coker!!
Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
