To all those complaining about the strictness of the punctuality policy: I’m very glad you’ve decided not to go there so that those of us who are actually on time can be attended to on our scheduled slot. When someone is late it trickles down and affects the rest of the patients. Unlike every other Miami practice, you don’t have to wait 30+ minutes to be seen. Amazing! Further, Dr. Coker and her staff are absolutely excellent. They provide great care, are very thorough, detail oriented, knowledgeable, respectful and friendly. It is clear from the reviews and the responses that if YOU are rude, they won’t be putting up with that. And why should they? I cannot recommend this practice enough if you are serious about your health!

Dr. Coker is a great physician; however, her staff is completely incompetent and extremely passive aggressive. I would not recommend going to this office.
Not only will they never own up to their administrative mistakes, they'll manage to blame you for them.
Edit: Just read the recent reviews...looks like "Mark" should be responding with a passive aggressive statement any moment now.

Dr Coker is one of the most caring doctors I have had. She is very attentive and knowledgeable. I very much like how she takes time to answer the questions I have, even if I think they might be silly or irrelevant, she acknowledges me and my concern.
Being seen on-time is such a major plus for me; I have set time throughout my day for different things, and I'm able to plan my day without missing a beat. I enjoy the opportunity to be early to reservations and appointments, and Dr Coker has always made sure I was seen either on-time or on occasion earlier than expected after check-in.
I look forward to continuing to see her as the occasion arrises. Thank you.

I have been a patient of Doctor Coker for a year and my experience has always been great. Doctor Coker is Knowledgeable, and, informative. I always feel at ease and confident that I am receiving expert medical care. Staff is great, too. There is never a long wait to be seen. I Highly recommend.

Easy to schedule. Always on time. Takes the time to listen to you. Focused on the patient and not just getting people in and out. I’m a patient and not a number. You actually see Dr Coker not a nurse or PA.

Great first visit experience with Dr Coker and staff. Efficient, timely, pleasant and appropriately thorough. Appreciated doing all the pre work history and forms before even.going to office. Made the whole exoerience nicer and focused on the exam. Office was super clean and demonstrated high COVID safety precautions.
Would recommend Dr Coker to any of my friends and family.

Dr.Coker is an excellent doctor. She is professional, has great bed side manners and right to the point. If you are a person that is always running late and never on time, she is not the right doctor for you as she has strict timely rules. BUT, if you are a person that is on time, doesn’t like waiting hours in the waiting room then she is the perfect doctor for you. If your appointment is at 10am you’re in at 10am. I had an extensive amount of work needed to be done as I am moving to China, not only was it done very quickly but it was done correctly and with a great attitude. Thank you Dr. Coker, you’re amazing!

My family has gone to Dr. Coker for more than 2 years. I have never had a doctor be more caring and intentional. We always have time to talk through all questions and concerns. Dr. Coker is great to respond to issues on the patient portal online. The only negative I have is that you have to find parking or pay $10 at the lot beside the office.

Worst experience!
To start off, the reason this review earns a 2-star rather than a 1 is because Dr. Coker is actually ok. But that's only if you are one of the chosen people that are able to get through to see her.
Mark, the receptionist has absolutely zero respect for any one of Dr. Coker's patients. His whole goal in life is to find every possible way to not allow you to pass his domain. He sees not allowing you to have your appointment as a personal success and he does so in a variety of ways.
The first - his personal hygiene. You are immediately confronted with a powerful odor as you walk in the door. Your olfactory senses are brutally assaulted as you realize the smell is coming from the unkempt, man glaring at you from behind the desk. But you are a champion and you will not be beaten so easily.
As you gag your way to the desk, his manner becomes both tense and defensive. His first thoughts are how can I make this person fail. As other reviewers mention here, if you do not have the right documents, you may as well leave and never come back, because that's one of two strikes allowed before they ban you. Yes, they will BAN you! This list of bannable offenses is nearly as long at the Obamacare directive, but a few highlights are: cancel an appointment less than 7 days in advance, show up more 5 minutes late to an appointment, did not bring the plastic insurance card but a paper copy instead, if your name starts with K, N or J (ok that last one I made up but you get the idea).
I however am a stickler for detail in both preparedness and time. And so successfully maneuver through all of his traps, and find my way into the exam room. SUCCESS!
After the exam, I expect to wait a week for the results to come in. I receive a call, and schedule another appointment to review my results. I repeatedly ask and confirm the time as well as save it to my calendar. They day of my follow-up comes and I show up to speak with my doctor about my results. Mark has glowing eyes and a slight smirk as he triumphantly states that my appointment was a different time and that I now have a strike, he gleefully asks if I would like to schedule another time, itching to get this ban going.
Essentially, he intentionally sabotages Dr. Coker's patients that he doesn't like. Let that sink in...
Think Gandalf "You shall not pass!"
Think Ray Lewis on a goal line stand
Think soup nazi "No soup for you!"
In many ways I believe Dr. Coker found this pitiful soul begging under the 95 overpass and took pity on him. For Dr. Coker practice's sake I pray she finds a reasonable alternative soon before her practice vanishes.
I have since found a much better office. Good luck!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Coker’s for the past 5 years and she (as well as the rest of the practice) has always treated me with the utmost courtesy and respect.
As a Doctor, she is kind, understanding and professional- she takes the time to be thorough, listen, and provide advice when needed or requested. Additionally, I have never had to wait more than 2 minutes to see her.
I can’t think of a better Doc and I am glad I can count on her and her partners for my medical needs.

Do not send your business here. Staff is EXTREMELY rude. I was astonished at the amount of disrespect I experienced from just a short 3 minute conversation that I had with the receptionist. He was completely unaccommodating and inconsiderate.
I called Dr. Coker’s office at 4:30 pm Friday to schedule a new patient appointment. I was excited to be a new patient of Dr. Coker’s, especially after reading all of the wonderful things written about her. I was eager to schedule an appointment. The receptionist answered in an annoyed tone as if he were already done for the day, fed up, and could not care to be bothered. I pleaded to allow him to let me schedule an appointment, but he refused me saying I have to wait until Monday and that the office was closed (which according to Google the office closes at 5). He said the reasoning was that I had to make sure my last physical was more than one year ago, which I continued to assure him it was. The fact he refused to schedule me and acted like I was inconveniencing him was upsetting. I wanted to schedule an appointment and have it over with as it was my only chance to call Dr. Coker’s office due to my work hours. I curiously asked, if the office was closed, then why did he answer the phone? In return I got snark comment and he started to criticize me for asking such a question. This short conversation immediately left a bad taste in my mouth, so I proceeding to hang up the phone. There was no need to remain on the line after being refused a visit and criticized on top of that.
The receptionist then proceeded to call me back just to lash out on me and call me rude for hanging up the phone. After belittling me, he told me he will be refusing my application with Dr. Coker and that they won’t accept me as a patient.
Disgraceful and unethical that a doctor would let their practice be ran like this. Shame because Dr. Coker seems like a knowledgeable professional.

I was just refused care because I entered my old address (I JUST MOVED BTW) I spoke with Mark, who seems to be very hostile and not helpful at all, and could have just cleared things up with a simple question, 'what is your current address', but decided to go back and forth with me for about a week and a half, just stating my address is incorrect. This to me seems unethical to refuse care to a patient because he gave you the old address of a place he just moved from. Not only that, apparently he told me they pick and choose who they want as a patient, and apparently i didn't make the cut, does that seem ethical to you? I think not. Unfortunately i cannot speak to the type of care that this Dr. provides due to the unethical and inappropriate behavior of Mark. I am just honestly extremely disappointed with the way I was treated, due to a mix-up with an address, this does not seem fair to me.

Rude staff. Read the comments below, not the first time people complain about the receptionist MARK being rude. He should be working at the front desk of a restaurant not in healthcare, this is not acceptable bedside manner for this industry. Note, this is the beginning of your decline, more will follow. Namaste

My experience at this practice has been nothing but exceptional. As I read the reviews given by other people in the recent past, I was compelled to write a review about my experience. When you contact this office either by phone or through zocdoc, it is well specified that you need to bring in your plastic insurance ID as well as your personal ID. They also advise you, before confirming the appointment, of all of the rules and requirements they have for new patients so that you have the choice to confirm your appointment or not.
The important thing to consider is that this practice is a serious business and they don't like wasting their time or yours, which is the main reason I selected her as my primary doctor. Since I work in Brickell, I was looking for a primary doctor who would be close by and won't interfere with my working schedule. For some people who are unable to make it on time it might be an inconvenience to have their appointment cancelled if they are not on time. For me, it's one of the best things about this practice. I only have limited amount of time to go to my appointments so I need to make sure that I'm taking care of at the time that I scheduled my appointment and not have to wait 30 minutes or more to be seen by my doctor because he/she is running late with other patients, which is the typical scenario at most practices or clinics. She makes an hour available for each of her patients allowing her to really take her time to answer all your questions and your health concerns. She does not rush and to me that's very valuable considering how expensive medical plans are today.
I suggest to those that have the tendency to not make it on time or to follow direction to find a clinic or practice with the same tendencies. If you are organized, on time and have respect for your time and others, then this is the place to go.

After being a patient for about 4 years...I was told by the "senior partner" (Mr. Marchello) that I was to be released as a patient if I rescheduled. 3 reschedules in 4 years? Dr. Coker is a thorough & professional doctor but I decided I need to move on because of this unreasonable policy. My own schedule is erratic & hard to predict. I need a primary that understands that. What if I was a patient for 10 years and had to reschedule a 3rd time? Would I be "released"? I understand the office wanting to implement some structure but to be so unreasonable after being a patient for so long made me feel undervalued.
My suggestion would be recycling the cancellation policy if patients meet certain criteria (3 years or more as a patient/customer). That would be reasonable along with making good business sense (cant imagine how may patients they've lost).
Needless to say, I'm disappointed......... Especially in the "matter a fact" tone the senior partner spoke to me in. As if he could CARE LESS if they lost a patient (wondering if Dr. Coker knows that). Either way....I wish Dr. Coker luck & thank her for her services in the past 4 years.
