About A. Scott Campbell, MS, MD

When I first opened my practice 25 years ago, I wrote this: “Many of the chronic diseases in adults are the result of lifestyle choices. Emphasis is placed on disease prevention through educating patients about healthy lifestyle choices. These recommendations are based on continued critical analysis of medical literature”. I still believe this now more than ever.

I also understand the importance of the patient-physician relationship. I am a fifth generation physician and am proud to continue the tradition. As a child, I remember riding along with my father as he made house calls. I have continued to make house calls in my practice. Affiliating with MDVIP will allow me to continue seeing my patients at their home when they are too ill to come to my office.

My MDVIP-affiliated practice allows me to be a “country doctor” while getting to know each of my patients as individuals. In doing so, along with the latest screenings and diagnostic tests, I may be able to detect problems before they become major issues. I also have a strong background in science, with a BA and MS in Biochemistry, as well as several years of basic “bench science”. I have been trained to look at the latest health foods critically.

What our members are saying

My husband and I were patients of Dr Campbell for a number of years when he decided to become an MDVIP practice. We were offered the opportunity to join the new smaller practice. We felt we couldn’t afford the annual fee so we didn’t accept. Soon the practice was full. We had heard of a new doctor who was highly recommended so we became new patients. My sister joined us at the same time since her…

I became a lifelong fan and patient of Dr. Campbell the day that he diagnosed me with sepsis (turns out it was due to an infected kidney stone) and sent me to the emergency room immediately. On that day, neither my husband nor I realized how sick I was - as I had been at work the previous day and carried on completely normally. However, after work and then the next morning I had absolutely no…

About 5 years ago my long term doctor retired. I panicked because I never thought I'd find another Doctor that I was totally happy with. Well, Dr. Campbell proved me wrong. If I made a list of all the things I am grateful for there wouldn't be enough room.
But I'll say a few things I found very important. Dr. Campbell is extremely detailed, his knowledge covers a vast arena…

Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
