About Jeffrey N. Greer, MD

"No one has ever explained it to me like that before!" I love when a patient says that to me. I am passionate about helping people understand the complex biological pathways happening inside their bodies and then giving them the tools they need to live healthier lives. My affiliation with MDVIP allows me to have more time to educate, but also to get to know my patients as friends rather than as collections of medical problems. I believe that a close, trusting relationship between doctor and patient is the bedrock of primary care and an essential part of illness prevention. My MDVIP-affiliated practice, often compared to a concierge medicine practice, offers conveniences like same- or next-day appointments. I also believe that you need to practice what you preach, so I try to lead by example by making physical fitness and a healthy diet a priority in my own life.

My personalized family medicine practice is located in Midlothian, Virginia. I serve patients from the Greater Richmond area and the surrounding counties of Chesterfield, Powhatan, Amelia, Goochland and Henrico. I am a member of the medical staff at Chippenham and Johnston-Willis Hospitals, and I also visit nearby Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center. I have particular interests in cardiovascular health, diabetes care, behavioral health and preventive medicine. I enjoy practicing the full scope of family medicine with a goal of helping you improve your overall health so you can live your best life.

What our members are saying

On at least three occasions either I or my wife have contacted Dr Greer concerning what we considered emergency situations: 1. While working on a sprinkler head (irrigation system) in our yard, I ran a knife through the web between my thumb and index finger. My wife called and explained to Dr Greer’s nurse (Melanie… we love you Melanie) what had happened. Dr Greer had me come immediately to his…

Dr. Jeffrey Greer has been more than a physician to my husband and myself, he is family. He is caring and understating. He will get to the heart of any issue we may be having, researching it until he finds the answer and follows up to make sure we stay on course. He also explains things extremely thoroughly and stresses the importance of following doctors orders. Dr. Greer is truly a lifesaver…

Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
