About Mary K. George, MD
My passion as an internal medicine physician is to provide you with personalized healthcare. I truly enjoy the practice of medicine in its purest form. As a result of my 24 years of practice, I have realized that a robust doctor-patient relationship is fundamental to a successful practice. As an MDVIP-affiliated primary care physician, I have more time to develop close relationships with my patients, carefully review records and perform comprehensive exams. Being your private doctor, we can work as a team to formulate a wellness plan that will help you achieve your health goals.
Maintaining health and wellness, rather than treating disease, is my greatest goal. My primary care practice is located in Hoffman Estates, Illinois and focuses on women’s health, integrative health and preventive care, in addition to all aspects of internal medicine. With my additional certification in obesity medicine, I am well equipped to help my patients battle a disease that is a major risk factor for other chronic diseases such diabetes, osteoarthritis, hypertension and coronary artery disease. Similar to conveniences often associated with concierge medicine practices, I also offer same- or next-day appointments that start on time. I will work with you at each step to assist you with making informed decisions toward achieving your health goals – whether it's running your first 5K, improving your nutrition, formulating an exercise program, reducing the use of medications, or just living life to its fullest.
As one of the few female internists serving the Northwest suburbs of Chicago offering this personalized healthcare approach, I am offering social visits to my patients when hospitalized at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village and St. Alexius Hospital in Hoffman Estates. I am also pleased to offer home visits as an added benefit to patients that qualify. I look forward to empowering and partnering with my patients to achieve their health and wellness goals. I love to see their happiness when they realize that they have succeeded.

Reviews from the web

As for MDVIP or 'concierge care' she is switching to, I am inside the cross road now. I came across a figure that about 10% of the docs in the US are into that business model, and slowly growing, and the MDVIP is not on the the 'exortic end' of conciege care practices though. It is objectively frustrating for me to see that, like many, after paying thousands into insurance/ insurances, none of that money is coming back to pay for reasonably 'improved/enhanced' or value added services(healthcare related) Dr. George or the 'MDVIP practice' is providing; as well as the doctor and I can retain each other. Frankly speaking, I rather directly pay the doctor a retainer fee the doctor set that is more modest than the $1600. I hope there is such a spin/evolution to the concept someday! Well, it appears to be the reality of the 'industry' that my outlay has to become those thousands on insurance plus $1600 per year for MDVIP(an annual decision), and much outside the scope of the political soccer called 'healthcare reform'.
I share the observation on certain new staffs. They do need much much more hand holding and I hope it is a case of the 'everyone has to start from somewhere' opportunity being extended by Dr. George. Yes, it can raise my blood pressure a little but I remind myself on what I said in the first paragraph. If it affects the medical matters, then I think it cannot be justified away!

Maybe with all that extra money from the concierge practice they're going into at $1600 per patient annually, they'll hire a new receptionist.

The reasons why I have stayed with her for so long are:
Her compassionate and empathetic approach to her patients.
She makes you feel comfortable.
Her new office and staff are awesome.
She validates and addresses your concerns by actively listening.
She makes you feel like you are her only patient when you are there.
She is prompt with her scheduled appointments.
She is very thorough and takes the time to explain and clarify things.
She tries to get to the root of the problem and considers prevention and alternative medicine when applicable
She returns phone calls promptly, even outside office hours, if needed and requested.
Her staff is friendly, kind and professional.
I WILL REMAIN HER PATIENT AS LONG AS SHE IS IN PRACTICE!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER! I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
