Matthew Hummel, MD

Too many incidents to enumerate...but I am approaching eighty-two and I can, with confidence, state that I would not be alive today if not for my long-term association (twenty years) with Doctor Hummel. He is a brilliant provider who sincerely cares about improving the quality of life for his patients. He has truly been, and remains, a blessing in my life!

Dr. Hummel is a very outstanding physician who is always accessible, a very caring doctor who is determined to solve ant treat a patients medical problem. When necessary, he refers you to the best specialists in the area for further analyses. He has an outstanding personality which puts a patient at ease. I enjoy conversing with him. He has a very capable staff, which like him, are caring and friendly. If the MDVIP organization presents awards, it should certainly consider Dr. Hummel as one of their top doctors.

Back in December I fell from my backyard spa and fracture my neck. I spent 6 days in the hospital before I returned home. I had to wear a neck brace for 6 weeks. The week after arriving home Dr. Hummel realizing I wasn't comfortable leaving home came to my home on his lunch break. He help explain my condition from the hospital reports and gave me a good idea of how I'm going to treat this injury. He encouraged my to pursivar and confidence to continue with therapy. I'm doing much better without the brace and I appreciate his guidance.

Dr Matthew Hummel is an amazing doctor and put energy and meaning back in my life. He helped guide me through my diagnosis of Parkinson’s. His expertise gave me the diagnosis and his connections got me into the best neurologist in the Phoenix area. With many tests and a concentrated effect I was on medicine that has been successful and put me back on track to golf, hike and do the things I love. I can trust Dr Hummel to keep up with the latest medical advances in Parkinson’s. That diagnosis was six years ago. This past year Dr Hummel did my annual exam and was very concerned about my PSA numbers increasing. He ordered tests and a biopsy and got this all going with in a few weeks with his connections in the medical field. I learned that I had an aggressive stage of prostate cancer. Dr Hummel told me to go the the Urologist for confirmation, tests and options to deal with the cancer. We did meet and do many tests with our Urologist. I always came back to meet with Dr. Hummel for his expertise knowledge and compassion to help me discover the best treatments so that I can again continue to do the things I love. I had a complete radical prostate surgery. There were several major complications to deal with. Dr. Matthew Hummel was right there by my side. I could call him, text him and do many emails that was always answered immediately with all my questions and concerns. After three long months after surgery and complications I started the healing process. Dr. Hummel helped me discover the best options to deal with the complications that I had. He did the research and would get back to me with my questions within a day. Most of this time I was in Colorado for the summer months, and Dr. Hummel In Arizona. That was not a problem because he was always there for me. I truly can say that his knowledge, compassion, understanding and connections that have continued to help me be the person I want to be and continue with a positive attitude. Without the guidance of Dr. Matthew Hummel and his deep concern for me and other patients I am not sure I would be where I am today. I am able to be positive, set life goals, and deal with the health challenges that I have. Giving me a quality life back has been so very important for me.
