About Michael G. Winnie, MD
I try to ensure that my family medicine practice offers a comfortable office atmosphere, access to the latest technologies and referrals to the best specialists, when needed. But most importantly, I will always take the time to be a great listener. I want my patients to feel that coming to my office is like visiting family—we can even share a laugh when one is needed. One day I was working and got a piece of metal stuck in my eye I called my Doctor Winnie and had an appointment the next day at 9:00 ASAP and was taken care of I have never had any other Doctor do that for me

Dr. Michael Winnie is an amazing doctor. Always there when I need him no matter what time is it. I absolutely love his medical care technique and it has made me a better person today. I would absolutely recommend him as your primary care physician. Trust me You will not be disappointed. The staff as well. Very loving and caring . They make you feel like family.

This place is a joke. I’m currently trying to find a new primary care doctor so I call this number and the front desk person starts giving me a whole spill about a membership service if $1800 a year just to see this so called “doctor”??? Yeah right. Not to mention this guy has 2 official strikes on the medical board of Texas. I would look elsewhere and don’t waste your time with Dr. Winnie. He’s definitely not an ethical doctor and is just in it for scamming his clients

Dr Winnie and his staff are very dedicated to their patients’ care. They have been nothing less than perfect in their professionalism and respect for my time and wellness. Seems something has to happen when we need our doctors after their offices are closed. Dr Winnie’s after hours healthcare response was quick and caring. He followed up and seem genuinely concerned. Further, he ensured everything was ok. If you need a doctor, Dr Winnie and his team are their for you. What more could one want from their physician?

I had a massive hart attack noon the day before HURRICANE HARVEY came ashore in Corpus Christi Texas. August 26, 2017. Corpus Christi was under evacuation. I was taken to a Hospital down town. I was told at the hospital that they were going to keep me there over night and re check me in the morning. At 8PM they told me they were closing the hospital and I was being evacuated to Austin TX by helicopter. I could not go because my wife was at home alone. I call her and she came to pick me up and we sat at home through the storm at home. That night I called Dr. Winnie cell, he answered. I told him what had happened. He said he was on his way to San Antonio with his family and he would call in a RX for Nitroglycerin to our local Pharmacist. He also said if I have any chest, neck or solder pain to go to the local hospital emergency room close to me.
Long story short. Dr. Winnie was there for me even tho a Cat 5 Hurricane was about to hit.

i don’t believe you should have the option to charge patients above what the insurance company covers be accepted as a patient. i have been able to have contact with my doctor before outside of office hours and the description of getting an “in depth” screening and cholesterol test if you pay on top of your insurance is exploiting people’s illnesses to say the least and very concerning to hear about a doctor wanting their patients to do. remember why you got your medical degree, to help people, Dr. Weenie, not to get a bonus.

This Dr. wants $1,800.00 per year upfront "retainer" or "Membership dues" to be a patient. That's just to be a new patient and member of the office and have lab test done. No other services provided and they still plan to charge your insurance per visit. This kind of behavior needs to be investigated by the Texas Dept. of Insurance as fraudulent.

Before they want to even see you, they want over $1,500 PER PERSON (to be divided into four "easy" quarterly installments of $450 ea.) to do a battery of tests, his personal number, and to act like an ethical doctor. I get you went to medical school. But I already pay $22,000 per year in insurance alone, and you want me to pony up more cash just to say "Hi?" Me thinks not. I need a generic prescription and a referral to a dermatologist, not to be scammed out of $ for unnecessary tests that insurance won't cover because you want to fatten your pocketbook. This is what is wrong with healthcare in America.😒
