My goal as your personal doctor is to partner with you to create a comfortable medical home that encourages you to seek and follow medical advice that can improve your personal lifestyle and help prevent or treat serious conditions before permanent harm occurs. I will work with you at each step to help you make informed decisions toward achieving your goals – whether it's to optimally treat known conditions, uncover hidden risks or just have a mutually respectful conversation to answer your questions and concerns.
As one of the few family medicine doctors in south Orange County offering this personalized healthcare approach, I provide a level of care that can help you receive the prompt attention your health deserves. I also offer conveniences, like same- or next-day appointments that start on time, which may be found in concierge medicine practices.
My practice is located in Dana Point, California, and serves patients from all of South Orange County. I mainly focus on adult medicine now but have extensive experience in adolescent care and preventive care in addition to all aspects of primary care. I am affiliated with Mission Hospital.

Reviews from the web

The office staff are very professional and friendly. Everyone wearing masks, social distancing with a shield at the front desk, and thorough cleaning of all equipment in exam rooms between patients.
I just wish I had found Dr. Kempert 12 years ago when, having moved to Dana Point to care for my mother, I signed on with the physician who was her doctor for many years.
Big mistake, it took a recent visit where there were no masks, no gloves, no shield at reception, no social distancing, no nurse, no temp. check, no blood pressure check and no hand cleaner or any sign of sanitizing any equipment, to give me the impetus to find a new doctor. Being old and having many health issues I was horrified.
What a wonderful experience to be treated with respect and kindness, and the assurance that when I needed medical help there would be someone there to provide it.
Thank you Dr. Kempert, you're a breath of fresh air!

Dr. Kempert is AMAZING!!
This man is like an angel to me, he always takes my calls & or returns them. His compassion is nothing short of incredible, I have several female conditions & in our first meeting I am explaining my health history and he stops me.... He tells me how sorry he is that I've been suffering for this long and how he felt for me.
Ive worked in a few practices and I have never encountered a physician like Dr. Kempert.....
He not only gives compassion but he has helped me FINALLY find the answers to what is wrong & we are currently working on a better management situation so I can have a life that isn't ruled by my condition. I cannot say enough good things about this man!!
I hope you know how grateful I am to you.... you have done more for me than any Dr. has thus far.
Thank you Doc, I wish I could say thank you enough.
we all are so fortunate to be under your care.

I was in a car accident when I was 17 and went through a lot and he was there through it all with me. I've never been able to thank him enough for that.
There are some people who go into medical practice for the money, Dr. Kempert isn't one of those kind of doctors, he's a true gift to the profession.

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
