About Roger P. Rose, DO
My lifelong passion for caring for others has culminated in my decision to open my own MDVIP-affiliated practice. I am a residency trained, board-certified family doctor practicing in Sun Lakes, Arizona for the past 20 years; doctoring patients since 1996. I partner with you in your own personalized health care.
A good listener and diagnostician, I like to explain all of your health care options together so we make the right health care choices for you. Current health issues, chronic condition management, early detection and prevention are all important. We can achieve this with longer visits, screenings and action plans. Call my office to schedule a complimentary meeting with me to learn more about my practice.
Adult and elderly care are my areas of expertise. Quality of life is my main objective for you. I have been caring for people since the age of 19: Medical Assistant in a nursing home for three years, a Medical Orderly in the hospital for one year, then two years as an ER Assistant/Technician. I then attended MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine where my journey continued, learning the holistic approach to care for the patient. In my MDVIP-affiliated practice, I will have more time, which I beleive you deserve to help you purse your healthier living goals. I feel the balance of physical, mental and spiritual health are important for growing old gracefully and enjoying the journey there. It is my goal to partner with you as you work toward achieving your goals. A plan of action is important when helping to prevent future illness through screenings that can help detect risk markers and staying healthier through lifestyle changes. However, when illness does arise, helping to review it is just as important. I want to partner with you in doing just that, as your personal health care provider and health care advocate.

they are GREAT!
My last experience was I had changed insurance providers at the beginning of 2018. I needed to change the way I received my prescriptions. I had a couple of refills available but I could no longer get them at the local drug store. After calling and explaining this to them, a couple of days later I received my prescription in the mail. I then received a call from the office of Dr. Rose and was told I had to come in and see before I could get a refill. What??? After explaining an appointment was made. They said Dr. Rose would not approve any more refills until I saw him. A few days later a called back and asked to have my blood work done before seeing the doctor. I wanted to review the results with my doctor and not just get them from a phone call. Later I received a call that Dr. Rose would not approve the blood work until he saw me first. I ask why. They told me that he may want to take extra blood work after seeing me. I asked why and it just became an argument. I wanted to see the doctor and after that if he needed to take more blood work after the initial that was fine. No they said. He will not approve the blood work until I see him first and then if I want to go over them I will have to come back. I said I am the patient and I want to have the blood work done first and then review them with the doctor in person or you can just cancel my appointment. They said ok we will cancel your appointment. I fully understand that this is there normal way of doing things. I feel like it doesn't matter what I want as a patient they want to do it their way or else. So here I have no refills of medication and no doctor to see. In my eyes, they don't care about my well being or my concerns as a patient, only doing things their way and collecting my money for office visits, which takes weeks to get. So, Good doctor, bad practice.
Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
