About Ron Eaker, MD, FACOG, ABOM
Times are always changing, but through all phases of life, your health is of utmost importance.
You deserve personal, compassionate care now more than ever, and I have built a career based on the knowledge that wellness is a balance of mind, body and spirit. The VIP in my MDVIP-affiliated practice embodies this, as for me it represents Value In Prevention as well as Vitally Important Patients. I will work with you as a partner in your wellness, helping address the distinct needs of women in a patient-centered atmosphere. With 30 years of experience as a physician and two board certifications, I am uniquely positioned to walk with you on your journey towards achieving a comprehensive, happy, long, health span.
I have specialized in women’s healthcare for over 30 years in the Augusta and Aiken areas and was an early advocate of telemedicine in the region. The author of two books, A Woman’s Guide to Hormone Health and Healthy Habits for a Fit Family, my approach to women’s health focuses on wellness, weight management, hormone issues, menopause, holistic/integrative care and fitness. As a board-certified Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, extensive training has equipped me to deliver a spectrum of prevention services including weight loss, nutrition, immune enhancement, sexual health, mood and emotional issues and postmenopausal wellness. Similar to conveniences often associated with concierge medicine practices, I also offer same- or next-day appointments that start on time.
I practice what I preach and have completed over 100 marathons/half marathons and encourage my patients to adopt a healthy lifestyle by doing what they enjoy. I understand that personal care means listening to your needs, taking time to address those concerns and providing individualized solutions. In the midst of a changing healthcare environment, one thing always remains: you deserve personalized care where I can be your advocate - knowing you, your family and your needs and helping you find your individual path to wellness.

Reviews from the web
He delivered my three boys and has provided GYN care for me over the years.
My interest in the MDVIP program was borne out of a frustration with our current medical system where you develop a problem, like high blood pressure, and the medical response is to put you on a pill (for likely the rest of your life.)
Dr. Eaker takes the time to fully assess your current health, identify problems (or better yet, potential problems), look for the underlying cause and offer healthy solutions.
I am grateful to have available such patient centered care here in Augusta!
I needed someone who could help with my intolerance of several medications and was willing to try me on different ones to find something I could take without side effects. I like how I can contact him or send a message for quick feedback and follow up- even when I am out of town.
One experience that truly reflects his commitment was when I needed to complete a series of tests on a specific day involving very complicated procedures. Despite it being a last-minute request, Dr. Eaker accepted it and personally coordinated everything to make it happen. What I expected to be a stressful and overwhelming process turned out to be much easier than I had anticipated, which greatly reduced my stress.
More recently, as I sought opinions from multiple doctors regarding my current health concerns, I found that many offered very brief or one-dimensional recommendations, often focusing quickly on surgery. Given the potential impact of surgery on the body and the possibility of recurrence, I had concerns and hoped for a more thorough and individualized discussion, which I did not consistently receive elsewhere.
In contrast, Dr. Eaker took the time to carefully review my situation and explain that there is not yet a definitive conclusion. Rather than rushing to a single recommendation, he thoughtfully walked me through the considerations and advised me to consult with a specialist for further evaluation. His cautious, thorough, and patient-centered approach made me feel truly heard and reassured, and it is the reason I deeply trust his medical judgment.
I would also like to sincerely thank Tammy B and Tammy O for their professionalism and kindness. Tammy B at the front desk is always friendly, welcoming, and helpful, making each visit a pleasant experience. Tammy O, who assisted with my blood draws, various tests, and communicated my test results, is highly professional, efficient, and responsible. Test results are always communicated promptly once available, which provides great peace of mind.
I have full confidence in Dr. Eaker’s guidance and highly recommend Dr. Eaker and his team to anyone looking for a compassionate, patient-centered, and reliable physician.
Dr. Eaker is kind, patient, listens and educates ,me the patient.
So glad a friend made a suggestion.
Besides feeling very well taken care of, I have learned more about my body, my health and what I could be doing to ensure that my health continues to be my best asset! I have always struggled with insomnia, however never realized how that lack of sleep impacts my hunger levels of all things!!! Along with the comprehensive care, I have been participating in Dr. Eaker's weight management program, and I am pleased to say that I have lost over 50 pounds, and have FINALLY found a program that is successful for me. I appreciate everything that Dr. Eaker and his team have done to help encourage me to take care of myself. Thank you all SO much!!!
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, your MDVIP affiliated physician will cover primary care and our Women's Health Program. The extensive diagnostics performed in the Women’s Health Program cover important primary care areas, including cardiovascular health, stroke, diabetes, hearing, sleep, mobility, fitness and emotional well-being. Couple that with the annual women’s health screenings for gynecology, bone health and hormone testing – and patients can get the best of both worlds in one office.
Whether you are in your thirties or seventies, caring for your health can be nuanced and sometimes complex. At any age, you should be making a concerted effort toward prevention and wellness, and it’s never too late to start. Of course, as you age, your specific health needs change. In your twenties and thirties, you are likely focused on optimal reproductive health and wellness. In your forties and fifties, you’ll want to look at hormones, bone health and pre- and perimenopause. In your sixties and beyond, you’ll want to keep track of urinary tract infections, bone density and cardiovascular issues. But at every stage of life, it’s important to align your female-specific healthcare with your primary care, because there are many areas where the two intersect and can affect the quality of your life.
The MDVIP Women’s Health Program is only for women and focuses on the unique health needs of women. Physicians offering the women’s program are typically gynecologists and offer gender-specific testing, including hormone and bone-health screening as well as pre- and perimenopause services. Patients in both styles of practices receive preventive screenings and tests from the MDVIP Wellness Program, but the specific tests and screenings may be different.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
