About Teresa M. Williams, MD
I am a Mayo Clinic trained, board certified, internal medicine physician who is experienced in patient centered primary care. In addition to managing health problems from a holistic perspective, I am committed to personalized, quality patient care with a focus on health and wellness. I want my patients to have the ability to come to an office which is relaxed, welcoming and positive, where I can be fully focused on their health care needs. In my MDVIP-affiliated practice I will be available to my patients when they need me for as long as they need me. Together we will formulate a personalized long term health care plan with goals corresponding with their unique needs. I aspire to remain knowledgeable of cutting edge medicine and to being the best doctor I can be. I am committed to helping patients navigate the ever changing health care system and coordinating care with their specialists and hospitalists.
I have partnered with MDVIP to give the people of Robertson County and the surrounding areas the opportunity to participate in a medical practice, which promotes the goals of the personalized, quality healthcare we all want. I am very excited about MDVIP’s approach which has the comprehensive Annual Wellness Exam and patient-physician relationship at its cornerstone. Similar to conveniences often associated with concierge medicine practices, I also offer same- or next-day appointments that start on time. We all realize the importance of a healthy body, mind and spirit and I think the journey to getting there can be challenging, fun and exciting.

Reviews from the web
My mother-in-law was a resident in an area nursing home and Dr. Williams was one of the providers in the facility. My wife and I hired Dr. Williams to manage her care. Shortly after hiring her, the nursing home made a mistake in caring for my mother-in-law. Dr. Williams met with us and her conversation with us was condescending and disrespectful to say the least. Dr. Williams took the side of the nursing home instead of considering the interests of the patient and the concerns of the family she was charged with caring for.
On a separate occasion, when my mother-in-law fell ill while in the nursing home, Dr. Williams refused to listen to our concerns and would not entertain our requests for treatments that had helped her for similar illnesses in the past. Dr. Williams initially refused to treat my mother-in-law and then prescribed the wrong treatment for her. Unfortunately, we did not discover this was the wrong treatment until my mother-in-law was rushed to the emergency room. We were told by the hospital that the damage had already been done and they would try to reverse it but were unsure if they would be able to. Unfortunately, they were not able to correct it and my mother-in-law passed a few weeks later. To exacerbate matters, we told Dr. Williams that her services were no longer needed after we became disgusted with the treatment she provided. After being informed she was no longer needed, Dr. Williams contacted the nursing home which resulted in my mother-in-law not being able to return to the facility for hospice care. This created another problem of trying to find a place for my mother-in-law to receive hospice care while the hospital was ready to discharge her. Not something a family should have to do when a loved one is near death. Especially after she made the mistake.
My experience with Dr. Williams had previously been very good, which was why I was so shocked at the treatment she provided us and my mother-in-law. During the brief time she cared for my mother-in-law, she was condescending, talked down to my wife and I, and refused to listen to any questions we had about her care. She was also unwilling to listen to any recommendations we provided on her care, even though we had been helping care for her and her condition for several years. She was very short with us and acted put-out at anything we said.
If you are looking for a provider for you or your loved one, I would look elsewhere. In my opinion, there is never an excuse for the treatment we received from Dr. Williams.
Theresa Williams visited my mom at NHC a few days before she was rushed to NorthCrest. My mom was lying in a bed, unresponsive, obviously sick. After leaving, Teressa Williams sent me a text message stating that she believed my mom had "years left with proper care." I had nurses, CNAs, and other medical staff that had worked with my mom acknowledge the drastic change in baseline, except for Teressa Williams.
I should have heeded the warning signs. My first was in conversations with this provider; she openly discussed her discontent with PAs and APRNs making the same earnings as her but with less schooling. My second warning came when my husband and I met with her during her office hours to discuss my mom's care. Teressa Williams was argumentative and would not allow my husband and me the ability to talk. It was challenging to ask questions, given she spoke over us and would not listen. We honestly did not understand what we had walked into and questioned if she had the right family. I would never have stood for someone speaking to us with such disregard, except that she was assigned to my mother's care.
In my humble opinion, Teressa Williams should not be a practicing provider. And please do not pay the extra fees associated with contracting her to care for you or your loved ones. If you have questions or want to discuss the above, do not hesitate to get in touch with me.
Dr Williams is the very best doctor. We have

I love the fact that she always discuss treatment plans with you with other options. She has never over medicated us.
Her staff is the Best, they treat you more like a friend than a patient.

Forever grateful.
Basically, I am an active, vibrant 85 year old and never really been a sickly person. However, after my hospitalization, I felt like Dr Williams was where I needed to be.
She has been a God send; she has helped me recover and feeling back to myself.
I am very happy with my choice and highly recommend Dr Williams and her staff.
Above and beyond what most physicians have done for me in the past!
I thought, a doctor on call (for me) 24-7, how can that be? So I looked into the MDVIP program and liked what I read, then read about Dr. Williams and her credentials and was convinced this was for me.
Just a little back story. Our son died 8 years ago, by taking his own life, so needless to say it has been a very difficult time for me, these last 8 years. After he died, and I was in prayer (a lot!!) I came to realize that all of the people in my life, prior to and after his death, were placed in my life by God for reason and all had a purpose. Before my eyes, my life looked like a puzzle and I was able to start putting pieces together, most representing the people in my life, and could see how God had been, was, and will always take care of me, by so carefully selecting the people I would encounter, whether family, friend, co worker, neighbor or even stranger.
Because of not only the stress, but aging of course, I was having more health issues and was not satisfied with some of my doctors. Then, God introduced Dr. Williams into my life.
What a life and mental health saver!! I cannot express in words what it has meant to me to be able to reach Dr. Williams in emergencies, but more than that, it’s the time, concern, caring, and compassion she has with me that has made such a difference in my life and health. And “thorough”, oh my goodness, she will leave no stone unturned to get to the bottom of my issues.
Sometimes I get this fear that this is too good to be true, but I stop myself and just thank my Good Lord for gift he has given me.
Dr. Willliams is different from sooooo many doctors, and I’m proud that I’m one of her patients, and I hope I never overstep my boundaries with this wonderful privilege of having an expert, human and loving doctor.
Thank you Dr. Williams for all you’ve done and for being the kind of doctor you are.
Sincerely,
Sandra Bracy
Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
