About Tracie Lanter, MD

I decided to specialize in internal medicine because I believe this specialty provides me the opportunity to get to know a patient fully.  I can help a person more if I have the time to really get to know about the medical and personal aspects of someone's life. I aim to focus particularly on disease prevention. The MDVIP model of practicing medicine allows me the time it takes to better understand each patient's needs and specific circumstances, which allows us to develop a strategy to optimize wellness together.

I look forward to working with you on a personal level to achieve your goals for your own health and wellness.

My Cholesterol level was high, but I was reluctant to use medication out of fear of possible side-effects. Dr. Lanter did a great job in overcoming my resistance and urging me to start taking a statin. I have been on Crestor for a little over a year now, and my Cholesterol level has come down significantly. It is now in the normal range. No side-effects!

I have been very pleased with the care I receive from my Primary Care Doctor, Dr Tracie Lanter. She is very accessible, and I know I can depend on her efficiency in following through with prescriptions or referrals. It is a good feeling to know she is just a phone call away.

As a physician-patient, I feel fortunate to have such a bright, caring, compassionate internist; and Dr. Lanter will always go the extra mile to ensure my complete satisfaction. She also is open to learning about new genetic, gut microbiome, and cellular health related scientific discoveries in which we partner together to add them to the standard MDVIP Wellness Program.

My husband and I signed up for MD VIP and joined Dr. Lanter's practice a few years ago. She is a terrific doctor. She responds to our calls promptly; and, she and her office work to make sure we see the right specialists. She is proactive and when I had a certain medical issue she was able to get me in to a specialist within two days even though he was booked out for months. When we have our annual exams, she spends unhurried time with us to go over the results of lab tests and discuss any concerns we have. We have recommended her to friends who we understand are equally pleased to be part of this practice.

The staff is really nice, but the jury is still out. Wait times are much too long. My 12:30pm in-person appt. didn't start until 1:37pm. That was a telephone call from another room while she ate. I didn't see her until almost 2pm. A lot of the specialists she recommended only accept Medicare. I hope things get better. I expected much better, especially for an extra $2000 more.

Dr. Lasnter has been my primary care physician since she came to this practice and it has been a very good fit for me. First of all I like her and trust her and that is most important in any relationship. She is an excellent doctor and diagnostician. Also the office is well run and staff are helpful, friendly and efficient.

I feel very alone. I wish that I had a friend with whom I could relate to
and enjoy their company, going to movies, shows ,restaurants, art and
cultural events. More importantly, laugh, be oneself, and be a part of
family and less criticism. I am proud of whom I am!

My mother transitioned to Dr. Lanter when her previous doctor retired and had a couple visits with her. Unfortunately shortly thereafter my mom became ill with cancer and was hospitalized on and off until her death about a year later. We tried very hard to communicate with Dr. Lanter to get advice about care and she just did not return calls. I managed to speak with her once to ask about what medicines my mother was taking and she was pretty difficult asking "do you want me to read off the entire list?". Yes I did because my mother was 89 and did not remember all the medicines she was taking. She never followed up even once to see how my mom was doing. Not acceptable.

I had a great wellness visit with Dr. Lanter. She helped me with two issues and recommended non-invasive and non-drug remedies: 1) for acid reflux, use an extra pillow at night to elevate my head. Since I have been doing that, my acid reflux has been greatly diminished; and 2) to prevent osteoporosis, do strength training. I have been working with a personal trainer for seven months and I have solved problems I didn't know I needed to: I can open any screw top bottle easily, and I can run up the steps in the middle without holding on to the bannister. And no sign of osteoporosis. Thank you, Dr. Lanter!!!

Dr. Lanter is an upbeat, pleasant doctor. I can rely on her returning calls in a timely manner. She keeps my records up to date. She is taking over a practice of a doctor who retired and is doing her best to transition her patients

Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
