When You Need Specialized Care
Your physician will continue to refer you to your local specialists and hospitals. However, should you need highly specialized care, second opinions or treatment beyond what is available in your area, you can have peace of mind knowing that MDVIP can help connect your doctor with the appropriate team of specialists at some of the country’s leading medical institutions through MDVIP’s Medical Centers of Excellence (MCE) program.
Once you and your MDVIP-affiliated physician have determined the appropriate MCE facility and confirmed your insurance coverage for a referral consultation or treatment, MDVIP will:
- Facilitate the scheduling of consultations and appointments
- Assist with the transfer of your medical records including diagnostics, when applicable
- Provide information about travel, local hotels, transportation and other amenities you may need
As an ancillary benefit, MDVIP does not charge a fee for the services provided by the MDVIP MCE program. However, any charges for services provided at any of Medical Center of Excellence facilities are between you, your insurance and the facility directly.
