I am 89 years old and have been a patient of Dr. Sachs for many years. When i began to see him I was overweight and suffered from high blood pressure, lack of energy and other symptoms. Dr Sachs spent substantial time over years to motivate me to lose weight. He recommended a book that suggested one method of weight loss was reducing the consumption of carbs in my diet.

When I moved to Carlsbad I had to get all new doctors. Dr. Sachs referred me to the best doctors in the area. His annual exam is 2 hours un-interrupted as he goes every detail of my health care. So many improvements in my health care are a direct result of his interest in my wellbeing. I feel fortunate to have Dr. Sachs as my doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sachs for the nine years we have lived in Carlsbad. My health is very good and Ivv b am fortunate to be active at 85 years old. There is no hurry when I am in dr. I recently needed an outside Doctor (Electrophysiologist) and had surgery for related issues. Dr. Sachs office called me during my stay at the hospital several times to check on status and to see if they could help in any way. Dr. Sachs provides the broadest and most detailed physical exams of any doctor I have ever had (at 80 yrs old there were many) including the corporate exams during my career. He takes time during the reviews to answer all questions and provides additional written medical information on diagnostics he anticipates may be an issue. I know I can have any discussion on my medical situation with him and he will take the time to listen and answer my questions.

Dr Sachs and his team are through, professional and caring. My annual physicals and follow up visits are most comprehensive. Dr. Sachs takes all the time necessary to review and explain everything needed to keep me healthy. On the rare occasion I have needed Dr. Sachs after hours he has been there for me, even when he was on vacation!

My mom has had Dr Sachs as her physician for the last 7 years. She’s 91. Moved here and needed to establish roots. He is professional, tireless to assist her and most of all kind among many other positive traits. He asks the right questions and questions her when she answers. Always her advocate. Dr Sachs took his time and asked questions that were more revealing than "How are you feeling?" or "what medications are you taking?". He asked sometimes difficult but searching questions that revealed not only the what but the why and why not. I feel like I am in good hands.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
