I'm an active 80-year-old scientist-engineer still working part time at Oak Ridge National Lab (ORNL). When I joined MDVIP I brought all my Gov't Medical records: 35 years at NASA & 7 yrs ORNL which Dr. G included with MDVIP to guide my preventative medicine. Altho I take no meds, he suggested 5000 IU Vitamin D3 (a bit on the high side). All in all my visits have been great including followup with phobe calls to Clevelend Clinic for details on annual test results which Dr. G explains in indersyandable detail. :)

During a recent follow up visit, Dr Jeff Grabenstein as how I was feeling to which I replied "great, except for a stiff neck after the carotid scan". He indicated that sometimes is the result but hang on, and walked out of the room. Returning in moments, holding a spray bottle of magnesium oil and said "let's see if this gives you any relief and sprayed one side of my neck and rubbed is briefly. We then proceeded to discuss the results of the carotid scan and discussed the way ahead. When finished that discussion, the side of the neck he had sprayed was no longer stiff. Dr Jeff proceeded to tell my why and how the magnesium oil works and then gave me a printout of several OTC options and where to purchase. Easy peasy resolution to a pain in the neck;-)

Meet Jeff Grabenstein, MD, FAAFP

I am a family physician who tries to make a difference in the lives of my patients. Utilizing a systemic approach to healthcare I believe that I can help my patients best by truly knowing who they are and what is important to them. This means that I address the cause of any complaints, devise a plan to get you back on track and provide continued counsel to empower you to become and remain well. This takes time.

As a member of my MDVIP-affiliated practice I will be able to personalize your healthcare by emphasizing prevention and wellness. The ability to obtain same day evaluations will allow timely treatments to be carried out so that more serious consequences are less likely to develop.

I share my practice with my wife, Diane Fabricius, MD. We both care for people in Oak Ridge and surrounding areas and are affiliated with Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

He focuses on preventative medicine to promotes a healthy lifestyle for the future: fitness, diet, vitamins, mental activity, relationships, ... The local practice is an excellent combination with regular visits to the Mayo Clinic MN for more detailed procedures: colonoscopies,... His recommendation to take his recommended dosage of Vitamin D has resulted in no polyps during my recent colonoscopy at Mayo. His recommendation of other supplements appears to promote a healthy heart. mind and body. I first went to Dr, Grabenstein during a crisis after a back injury with nerve damage. I was totally frustrated with the lack of treatment and understanding I was receiving from the group I had been seeing for nearly a decade. It was a massive group, I almost never saw the same Dr, or Pa twice.

I read about MDVIP and scheduled an introductory meeting with Dr. Grabenstein. I joined the program and couldn`t be happier. Appointments are usually within 24 hours, unrushed and always with the Dr.

Dr Grabenstein has been my physician for over 15 years and has always exceeded my expectations. He is a very caring and attentive physician and always makes me feel that my physical and mental wellbeing are important to him.
