About Tony Aventa, MD
My practice philosophy as an MDVIP-affiliated physician centers on delivering personalized, preventive healthcare that prioritizes the individual needs of each patient. My goal is to partner with you as you work toward bettering your health and enjoying the life you lead. I believe in building meaningful, long-term relationships with my patients by discussing their health goals, concerns and lifestyles.
Using evidence-based strategies and a proactive approach, I aim to discuss chronic conditions and help patients as they work to prevent illness. My focus is on helping to empower patients through education and collaboration, fostering a partnership that aids them in feeling supported and informed in their healthcare journey. Together, we can work toward optimal health and wellness.
With nearly 25 years of practicing in the community, I have relationships with many specialists to help with your unique needs. I may be your internal medicine doctor, but I also have interests in cardiovascular health, diabetes, hypertension and preventive medicine. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic test, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices.
My primary care practice is in Austin, Texas, and serves Travis County and beyond. I have associations with Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin and St. David’s Medical Center. I believe that my years of service in the U.S. Air Force as an attending physician for the Wright State University Internal Medicine Residency Program created foundational experiences that help me offer medical care in our community. I believe being your advocate involves not only our patient–physician relationship but also my desire to serve the larger community by being involved with the Texas Medical Association, which I have been a part of for over 20 years.

Frequently Asked Questions
MDVIP-affiliated physicians use the Wellness Program Plus to help prevent little things from becoming big things – working to help patients enjoy life and be healthier. Those who value their health will appreciate having a closer doctor-patient relationship. Because MDVIP-affiliated physicians have smaller practices, they have more time for you, so you can receive the individualized care and service you deserve. Physicians offering the Plus program have a different set of testing to choose from than physicians in the traditional program; this testing looks at additional health risks. Plus doctors also use an advanced cognitive testing system to evaluate brain health and offer a medication review program.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
