Five years ago, at age 73, I suffered from back pain caused by deterioration and loss of two disks in my lower back (L3 and L4). Dr. Carver prescribed exercise and referred me to a physical therapist who custome-designed a series of stretching and flexing exercises. The routine takes 40 minutes every other day. I have followed the routine very strictly and continuously ever since then, and so far I have had no recurrence of the pain. No drugs or surgeries have been required. I am highly gratified with this result, and I plan to continue the exercises as long as they help prevent pain and loss of freedom of movement.
