I have been a patient of Dr. Crooks for about 30 years. She has saved my life, my daughters life and my granddaughters life. She is concerned, empathetic and a good listener. I dread the day she retires. She is very busy and sometimes she’s booked quite a ways out, but if I’m really needing her soon, I text her and she makes room for me. She has become a good friend not just my dr. I would recommend her to anyone!

While our family has generally had positive experiences with the doctors at Lakepoint Family Physicians, aka Ascension Medical Group, the patient experience has been extremely disappointing and was marred by unprofessional service from the receptionist.

Her lack of knowledge around simple processes such as patient portal access and medical record authorization has led to wasted time, multiple follow ups, misguided information, but also has cast doubt on the overall efficiency of the office.

A courteous and truthful front desk is vital for any medical practice. Unfortunately, this interaction fell short of those expectations. Hopefully, this review will prompt this office to address the importance of professionalism and honesty with their reception staff.

Stopped going to Lakeside a few years ago. Many people on staff, including some doctors, were condescending and dismissive. Many of the doctors I liked left. I had multiple misdiagnoses and there was at least one instance of me having to follow up with the office after medications they prescribed me weren't filled, and when I called in they said they had no records of the medications or even my visit in general. At least while I was there, they didn't even have an online patient portal so I wasn't able to check any of my test results or exam notes. Cannot recommend this place.

The Doctor and her nurses are okay. I however find the staff that does scheduling very rude. Dr. Crook told me I needed a mammogram and that the office set this up for me. I was told I need to set it up myself...I just wont get one. I should say just one office staff is rude her name was Angela.

I like Dr Crook but I hate Via Christi. I think it’s such a disgrace that they can even call themselves Catholic. I have been harassed at my last two appointment because of masks. Today they told me I could go in the hall if I didn’t want to wear a mask so I chose that option. After choosing that option the phlebotomist came out to harass me about not wearing one. I immediately told her I would put mine on while she drew blood but she continually argued with me and told me to go get it drawn somewhere else. I kept saying, “I’ll put it on, I just want to get my blood drawn and leave.” I mean I said this over and over and she kept talking over me and shoving a paper in my face about where she wanted me to leave to go. Then she asked me about how many kids I have and I said 4 and she proceeded to say how terrible that must be. What the hell kind of “catholic” clinic are they even running. She then proceeded to tell me I have good veins and then had to stick me twice because she’s not very good at her job apparently. I have blood drawn all the time and no one should need to stick me twice. It was still hurting hours later. I’m not sure what her name is but they have had so much turnover in that department the last couple years, many great people, but this lady was absolutely unprofessional and terrible. This isn’t the first via christi clinic I’ve had trouble with. They have ruined a once good private family practice.

I have called and left voicemails to get my prescription refilled multiple times and they didn’t ever call back and sent in the wrong prescription dosage. Again I absolutely hate Via Christi. Thanks for firing all your good employees during covid. I hope no one comes to work for you and you all go bankrupt.

Love Dr. Crook but the office is no longer run well. Requests from the pharmacy and the insurance company get lost on a regular basis. And the business office manager delayed my appointment recently by at least 20 minutes so she could call me in and demand I sign a form for the patient portal even though I declined the service. Plus they now send 3 or more appointment reminders every time which gets annoying fast. Frankly, the doctor is the only reason I haven't moved elsewhere.

I'm a new patient of Dr. Crook,my first impression of her was great, she listens to your needs, she doesn't rush you, like most Doctors do, she takes her time with you to understand your needs and she makes you feel like she really interested in what you have to say, she takes the time to explain procedures and medications, she's sincere and she makes your feel comfortable, I would recommend her to anyone that's looking for a Doctor that treats you with respect and she LISTENS !!!

I went in there almost passed out crying because I was trying to figure out why I was bleeding out. They looked at me crying and sent me all the way to ridge road to draw blood from me. The other nurse was confused and got it one try. Subsequently I barely drove myself to the emergency room with a hemoglobin of 6.9. I was brushed off and told good luck on seeing what was wrong with me.

Dr. Crook was my physician many years ago. I thought a female doctor would be more empathic to other women.
She wore a religious pendant and I once asked if a woman came to her with a problem pregnancy (unwanted/unsustainable/dangerous to the mother) if she would offer all available options to her patient. She said that, based on her faith, she would NOT. I struggled with that, because the health of the woman, her patient, should be her priority. A physician should not let her own personal experiences affect the decisions that another woman might make to make to protect her own health and well-being.
Later, I had rectal bleeding but she did not want to recommend a 'scope because I did not fit the "profile" of someone with rectal cancer. I left, but my mother (!) finally made me go back and insist. Turns out my "wildly aggressive" cancer required surgery, chemo, radiation. I still have residual effects.
Had I taken Dr. Crook's advice, there is a very real chance I would not be alive today, or maybe living with a colostomy. I just bless my mom for pushing me to go back until Crook agreed to a colonoscopy. Turns out, you SHOULD listen to your mother, and perhaps not so much to the smug physician who poo-poos your medical fears.
Dr. Crook should not even be in practice, except maybe at one of the anti-choice "clinics."

Fantastic doctor! I've been seeing Diana Crook for over 12 years, she has been a true blessing to me. Through all of my life events, including a major heart-attack where I found that I have heart disease that has left me but one alternative, a transplant. She has been attentive, personable, really a part of my family. Diana has returned calls on the weekend, holidays, at all times...what doctor does that these days? All I can say is if you want a "Family" doctor. start here, Dr. Crook really cares.

Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
