Dr. Fouad Batah Opens New MDVIP Practice, Bringing Preventive Medicine to Southfield, Michigan
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — June 30, 2026 — Dr. Fouad Batah, a board-certified internal medicine physician who has cared for patients across metro Detroit for more than three decades, has transitioned his Southfield practice to the MDVIP model of personalized, preventive primary care. The new practice is designed around a smaller patient panel, giving Dr. Batah more time with each patient and a deeper focus on prevention and long-term wellness.
"Prevention is what I'm most passionate about. So much of what we treat, diabetes, heart disease, can be slowed, managed, or avoided altogether when you catch it early and have the time to really partner with a patient. This model lets me do exactly that,” expresses Dr. Batah.
He will be serving patients from his office on 29877 Telegraph Road, Suite 200, in Southfield.
His Standard of Care
Dr. Batah earned his medical degree from the University of Damascus before completing his internship and internal medicine residency at Providence Hospital in Southfield, where he has been rooted ever since. Over the years, his practice has become known for its continuity.
He adds, “Some of my patients feel like they've known me for 45 years – which always makes me laugh because I’ve only been in the business for 30! We've grown together. I've watched their kids grow up and become patients themselves."
That continuity extends beyond the office. Dr. Batah personally makes rounds in the hospital to follow his patients when they're admitted, ensuring a consistent, familiar presence during the moments care matters most.
Dr. Batah also chooses to lead by example, building his life around health, balance, and longevity to better understand and guide patients on the same path.
A Focus on Prevention and Chronic Conditions
Dr. Batah's clinical focus centers on the conditions most common — and preventable — in adult medicine: diabetes and pre-diabetes, cardiovascular and heart disease, hypertension, and high cholesterol. His practice is equipped to manage these conditions comprehensively, with an emphasis on identifying risk early in patients who are pre-diabetic or at risk for heart disease.
Under the MDVIP model, that prevention-first approach is supported by a comprehensive annual wellness program, advanced screenings, same- or next-day appointments, and 24/7 availability for urgent matters.
