My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
Located in Lexington, Kentucky and affiliated with Baptist Hospital, I’m honored to serve patients who come to see me from across the Commonwealth, as well as from many other states. My staff and I are accustomed to working with “snowbirds”, who winter in warmer climates. My personalized, internal medicine practice allows me to get to know each of my patients and to care for them well beyond their immediate needs. Because of this, when necessary, I am able to coordinate patient care with preferred physician colleagues, whether it be across town or across the country. My MDVIP-affiliated practice, often compared to a concierge medicine practice, also offers conveniences like same- or next-day appointments. In my internal medicine practice, I address the full depth and breadth of adult health, wellness and illness, with particular interest in prevention and wellness as well as cardiovascular health, hypertension, cholesterol disorders, nutrition, orthopedic and musculoskeletal problems.

I recently went through a long bout of Covid shortly before the Christmas holidays, which kept me from a large family gathering I had been looking forward to for 3 years. It also meant my husband and I had to cancel a mid winter beach getaway that we both were looking forward to and needed! My Doctor, Dr Gregory Hood, had the most helpful and consoling words in addition to the medicines he… See more
My story is plain and simple. I have total confidence in my Doctor, because of his knowledge. When I walk out of his office, I know that I have received the best my Doctor can offer.

Dr. Hood has been my doctor over 20 years Dr. Hood has always been very professional but also has I feel as a personal friend. Before my MD VIP Doctor Gregory Hood, I didn't feel the personal care and testing that gives me confidence. I was able to get special testing for the cancer gene which gives me confidence. Every year his office gives me thorough exams in mental and physical parameters plus bi-yearly bloodwork. And, he us always a phone call or text away.
His office is very professional yet friendly… See more

My primary doctor has always been available for my health care needs even when he was in France, and his support
team is beyond exceptional. There are not enough words to express my appreciation for their patience & caring
especially these past three years when I have had so many health challenges. They are a blessing in my life.
Been going to Dr. Hood for more than 8 years and have always had great care. Would highly recommend heim.
Quite simple. I am still alive because my MDVIP physician listened to my chest and paid attention to my symptoms. Because of that, a very early stage (0-1) adenocarcinoma was discovered and removed soon after. I required no Chemo or radiation and am still cancer free after 9 years. I only wish he had been my previous wife's physician. She died of stage 4 adenocarcinoma of the lung which… See more
