My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

Over nearly two decades of practicing geriatric medicine, I’ve learned that adequately addressing the healthcare needs of an aging patient requires both compassion and careful attention to detail. I’ve found that with a comprehensive and holistic approach to medicine, I’ve been able to manage even the most complex patients with the rarest conditions.

Unfortunately, the hectic pace and overbearing bureaucratic nature of modern medicine is preventing healthcare providers from performing at their highest levels. For my entire career, I have fought hard to keep my solo practice afloat while striving to provide the best possible care to my patients. At this point in my life, I am very fortunate to be in a position that allows me to finally practice medicine the way I have always dreamed. I have decided to switch my practice to the MDVIP model which allows me to fully prioritize and address the healthcare goals of my patients.

It all starts with prevention. Heart attacks and strokes are the two most debilitating diseases for my patients, but both are highly preventable with the right management plans. My patients and I work together as a team to decrease their risk for these diseases by thoroughly addressing each and every risk factor. Comprehensive yearly physical exams are the first step to achieving this goal. Earlier detection means earlier treatment.

I have been practicing 18 years in Lake County, Florida and am very lucky to have close relationships with local specialists should you need to see one. Medication regimes can be especially confusing for my patients who take over a dozen different medications and supplements. With my masters in pharmaceutics, I make a special effort to fully evaluate the necessity of each drug or supplement you take to create optimized and easy to understand plans. I have professional affiliations with both Villages Regional Hospital and Leesburg Regional Medical Center.

Give us a call if you have any questions. I look forward to helping you achieve your health care goals!

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Cai

from Barbara in FL March 12, 2020 for Jane Z. Cai, MD, MS

I have been a patient of Dr Cai over 12 years and always felt confident in her care. For several years she has told me that I was depressed. Sadly I denied her diagnosis until lately when problems related to depression occurred. Once I admitted I was depressed to myself and let Dr. Cai know I was ready to accept her diagnosis, she immediately took action.

Dr Cai has used the results of Mayo Clinic Jacksonville and Shands Hospital in Gainesville to try to make life easier for my husband who has Autonomic Disorder. In his case, body functions that we take for granted such as breathing, bowel functions and temperature control don’t respond to his body’s instructions. Dr Cai listens to his frustrations and finds therapies and other treatments to… See more

from Lynn September 19, 2019 for Jane Z. Cai, MD, MS

I just wanted to say that your office staff is more attentive, and compassionate than that of any other doctors that I see. (They are obviously happy, or they wouldn't stay with your practice as long as they have.) Every time I call, I feel that I am considered a priority; and I am always helped.
