About Jeffrey P. Friedman, MD
I have been a primary care doctor for more than 20 years. My goal as your physician is to provide personalized care focused on you and your individual health needs.
My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in other concierge medicine practices. These services are included in the annual MDVIP Wellness Program, which focuses on prevention. The lab findings and test results can help provide a deeper picture of your health, and with this information, we can work together to customize a care plan just for you.
Because my practice is smaller in size, it allows for same- or next-day appointments, phone calls that are answered by a person and, most importantly, visits that are relaxed and undisturbed. I have more time to listen and discuss what matters to you. Other benefits include the ability to reach me, your personal physician, after hours with more urgent needs or concerns.
Waiting and feeling rushed are two things that I believe should not happen in a medical office. In my office, visits start with minimal waiting, and they focus on you. I have seen many patients become more engaged in their care, and as a result, they have the tools and the ability to work toward becoming healthier.

Dr. Friedman is a throwback to the old days. He is compassionate and always there to help. But he is more than a throwback, he is highly competent and current in his medical skills.He also has a great bedside manner. I have been a patient of his for almost thirty years ! I came in complaining of telltale Lyme disease symptoms. I asked for a Lyme test and it came back positive but Dr Friedman didn't prescribe my the antibiotics needed to resolve the disease. Because of that my Lyme progressed to late stage Lyme which I suffered with for 9 years including a trip to the hospital for 2 weeks with lyme carditis. Leading up to the pericarditis I went to Dr. Friedman complaining of chest pains and he sent me to a pulmonologist connected to his son (unethical nepotism and greed). A month and a half of chest pains with no resolution until I had to be rushed to the hospital and almost died of heart failure because this guy wanted his son's pulmonary practice to get more $$. Considering this guy works in Connecticut and should be aware of Lyme disease, but did nothing to help me, I consider Dr. Friedman to be the reason I unnecessarily suffered for nine years with one of the worst diseases known to man. He's an obvious money grabber and a terrible doctor.

Dr. Friedman is the most dedicated doctor I have ever met. He has diagnosed me quickly and treated me thoroughly for serious issues on multiple occasions. He is reachable at all hours, on holidays, and has expedited my visits to emergency rooms and stayed in constant contact during surgery. Dr Friedman made himself available to us at any day or hour during my husband’s illness which was a great comfort. He referred us to a world renowned specialist which gave us treatment & insight into an illness not treated by many doctors. Dr. Friedman is a superb diagnostician, combined with sensitivity and caring. He always takes as much time as is necessary to answer all my questions - example: my 2-hour physical took 3 hours and he never rushed me. My husband has been going to Dr. Friedman since 1986, at which time Dr. Friedman accurately diagnosed my 40-year old husband’s gastritis as heart disease, saving his life. We feel very grateful that we have such a wonderful practitioner and man watching over our health needs.

Dr Friedman has been a life saver in the literal sense. He was able to diagnose possible PE or DVT and sent me to emergency right away. I was treated with specialist Dr's and put on a maintenance program. Dr. Friedman has been very instrumental in coordinating the appropriate intervention for specialist Dr's and my care. He has always made time for me with very little notice and always answers my calls to his private cell. I am not just saying this to make him look good. He deserves the accolades . I was experiencing symptoms of another PE and he answered my call at midnight and sent me to emergency room. He called the hospital so they would expect me and then took a call from me again at the hospital at 3:00am to give me testing advice. He is the best primary care Dr I have ever had. I travel a lot on business and Dr Friedman has always been proactive finding me other Dr's when needed while I am out of town.

I recently suffered a traumatic injury which has left me paralyzed from the waist down. Paraplegia is at best an inexact science. Dr. Friedman thrives in the uncertain and unknown though. He has a real passion for researching the unusual. Combine that with his genuine caring for his patients and I cannot think of anyone else who I would want with me on my journey through the halls of modern medicine.

Dr. Friedman is a first rate primary physician, he is thorough, follows through, is available for emergency consults and listens to your individual concerns. He makes excellent care choices, making sure that one receives the appropriate follow up tests and always communicates the results and any concerns he has. He made the correct call, telling me to go to an emergency room when I had stomach pain the night before a long plane flight. He was correct, I had an appendicitis and was in surgery the next day. He probably saved my life. I heartily recommend Dr Friedman.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
