My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

As your primary care physician, my passion is to unite my medical knowledge with your personal health needs to help you to live the fullest, healthiest life possible. Achieving this begins by investing the time to first get to know you and your goals in life. My personalized healthcare practice allows for unhurried visits to understand what is most important to you. We will work together using the most current medical knowledge to help achieve your health and wellness goals.

The MDVIP Wellness Program’s detailed health evaluation enables us to have a better understanding of your current health status and helps us to prevent future issues from derailing your plans in life. Between visits, we can keep in touch via email, texting and phone calls for questions that may not require a trip to the office. My practice is also pleased to offer our patients same-day or next-day appointments and timely referrals and authorizations.

My family medicine practice is located in East Greenwich, RI, and serves patients from Narragansett, North Kingstown, Wakefield, Warwick, Coventry and Cranston. I have been a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University since 1993 and continue to teach medical students. I am committed to continuously advancing my knowledge to help the doctors of the future as well as my patients. I look forward to being part of the solution for healthcare and helping you reach your health goals in life.

Dr. Slattery is a good listener, and he is very open minded about therapies that might be off the beaten path. I've known him for many years, though ups and downs, and there is no doctor I trust more...

from Ruth in RI February 13, 2024 for John Slattery, MD

Dr. Slattery is always willing to listen, even when there is no immediate solution or when the solution is out of his hands. Just talking with him makes my voice/concerns seem validated and valued. He is genuinely concerned about my well-being, both mental and physical health.

Made appointment for a bothersome but not very painful blocked ear. Dr Slattery spent more than the expected time variously & competently addressing the issue. True concierge relationship!

As a caregiver for my husband who had a stroke 3 years ago and was left with vascular dementia and other issues. Dr John Slattery is giving me the support I really need at this time and is very comforting knowing he is always there when I have a concern or a question.
