About Marilyn Ligon, MD, FAAFP
As a primary care physician, I am committed to the well-being of my patients. I believe in the power of preventive health measures to help enhance lives. My philosophy centers on a proactive approach to healthcare, education and personalized care.
By building stronger doctor-patient relationships, I strive to create a supportive environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their concerns and participating in their healthcare journey.
Through comprehensive screenings and having more time to spend with patients, I can work with them to develop unique action plans as they pursue their health goals. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices.
Ultimately, my goal is not only to review illness, but foster partnerships with patients and support them as they work to improve their health.

2019 I just returned from Korea visiting family for a month. After returned, I was feeling bad and hurt all over. After the few days of feeling bad I went to see Dr. Ligon and explain to her that I have not been feeling 100% and did not know what it is!!!

Both of my adult daughters and I are members of MD VIP, we all have auto immune diseases. We truly appreciate all that Dr. Maryline Ligon does for us to help keep us healthy whenever a cold or virus makes things go haywire. My mother is a patient of Dr. Ligon. She’s called for 3 days trying to get results of tests for a medical issue. Dr. Ligon has yet to call her back. VERY disappointed. Wouldn’t recommend.

I have been a patient of Dr Ligon's for at least six years or more. I pray I don't ever have to find another Primary Care Physician. It's been a wonderful experience to be a patient of Dr. Ligon. I can get ahold of her Anytime. ( what Dr. Will do that?) She explains everything specifically to your own understanding. Her nurses & staff are always willing to help & couldn't be friendlier. To put it simply, you are not just another number. You can feel her heart in the way she cares. You can't help but Love her.

Dr. Ligon is not only a wonderful doctor but also a genuine caring person. She takes the time to listen to you and responds all your questions. Our family has been seeing her for 5 years. Things in her office have improved immensely since she switched to MVIP. She has more time to dedicate to each person and everything runs smoothly. There’s literally no waiting for you to see her and her staff is incredibly helpful. The ladies at the front desk are sweet and caring and know every patient.
If you want someone who cares about you and not your money, Dr. Ligon is for you. You won’t be a number or quota she needs to fill to keep insurance companies happy. She’s excellent and a great diagnostician.

Dr. Ligon is an amazing doctor and boss. She treats her patients as humans and not a pay check. She cares for every person that walks through that door. She listens to her patients and she does what they want done. She is open to alternatives other than just pushing medications. Switching to MDVip was the best thing she could do for her patients. She is able to have one on one time with them, take longer during each patients appointment. She gives each patient her personal phone number so that they can contact her directly. She cares for her patients and treats them as family. She is also very knowledgable in her studies and has treated many patients that had seen different doctors for many many years, and is able to find the problem in a short amount of time when other doctors couldn't find the cause of their issues. She is very knowledgable in hormone therapy as well.

Extremely satisfied with the level of care and value for the MDVIP service. I was initially hesitant with joining MDVIP, but I am more than satisfied with the level of care of Dr. Ligon. Usually, I do not complete reviews, but I feel very strongly about her care and concern for her patients. I would highly recommend her!

I saw Dr Ligon for many years. She has a great bedside manner, but she runs a very disorganized office. Her office staff is not knowledgeable, and they work slowly. Appointments consistently run behind—far behind schedule. Her billing was such a mess that she had to hire someone to do an audit, and we started getting bills from services from a year ago. When we paid, our account was never credited, and we had to go through the bank to prove we had paid the bill. As much as I like Dr Ligon, I can’t handle the disorganization and the lack of timeliness.

I really liked Dr. Ligon. I switched my whole family over making her our Primary doctor with BCBS of AL almost a year ago. I have a pretty healthy family so one of my daughters and myself have never actually had to see her. One daughter has a monthly prescription we have to see a doctor to get refilled. We filled out ALL of our paperwork at the same time. Now that she is switching to this "MDVIP" program in September, they will not make an appointment for my other daughter to get a sports physical in less than a week because she will be considered a "new patient" unless I pay $1,800 to join the program (that doesn't start until September). This almost $2,000 for the year doesn't even cover everything, still have to maintain my insurance (almost $400 a month) to cover sick visits. Talk about not caring about your patients and being all about the benjamins. Now I will have to switch primary doctors and probably pay a fee to BCBS since it hasn't been a whole year yet.

Dr. Ligon has been my doctor for over eight years. She listens well, does not rush to prescribe, but sometimes offers alternatives (physical therapies, holistic approaches) that show she really wants to get to the heart of the problem, not just get you out of the exam room. I don't know about you, but this is what I want in a doctor.

My mother is in a assisted living home. This doctor has been generally late, and unresponsive. Normal response is take her to the emergency room, sit down there for hours on end until finally, she is admitted. This is a doctor with no heart or compassion. A fool on a hill. Now, weeks after post, this doctor took a WEEK to respond for a simple request. Real piece of work here. I would take that one star and stick it where the sun dont shine.

The reason I'm scoring this is due to horrible time organization. I had been wanting to find a good doctor and seen the good reviews for the Dr. Ligon. Since going I have not only seen her once. I have not seen her since my initial 1st appointment, due to extreme wait times and or changing of my appointment. Yes staff is smiling face and Dr may be good. However to wait over 25 mins for an appt every time is unacceptable. I have work and to show up and always be told you have to wait over 15 mins is not professional. I think I will be finding another Doctor. I'm very disappointed with the service.

Horrible customer service. Appointment at 4:45 turned into waiting till 5:45. Hours start at 8 they don't open doors till 8:30. It's been 2 weeks since test results came in and still don't know what they say. Hope it's not important.

Love Dr Ligon! And Jennifer is a hoot! Both are very caring and are going to get to the root of the problems that you may be having. I drive almost 2 hours for my appointments but it is so worth it! Glad to have finally found a doctor that truly cares, understands and listens without rushing you through trying to get to the next patient. I don't think I've ever had a doctor that personally called me to check and see how I was doing. I highly recommend Dr Ligon and Jennifer is a bonus!! Lol

WONDERFUL DOCTOR!! not only treated my symptoms but went above and beyond! The staff is wonderful from the check in staff to her nurse Jennifer who is AMAZING and has the best touch for shots lol. Now not only do they treat me but both my daughters as well. Truly blessed to finally have found a great doctor.

I've been seeing Dr. Ligon for around 5 or 6 years, she is great very easy to get into her office, her nurse Jennifer is amazing. She makes sure she answers your questions to the best of her knowledge and makes sure that if your having a problem that she runs all kinds of test to pin point the problem absoutley LOVE Dr. Ligon!
