My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

My MDVIP-affiliated family practice is much smaller than a traditional primary care practice with fewer than 500 adults and children. This allows me to provide you with unhurried and relaxed office visits and leads to the development of a very strong doctor-patient relationship. The result is much earlier disease detection and enhanced disease prevention. Through a more individualized and innovative approach, I am able to be your personal physician to help you be well and stay well. By utilizing nutritional education, promoting physical and mental well-being and coaching healthier lifestyle choices, I will help you to empower yourself to live the best life possible.

I have been named in an article in Newsday as one of the six top family physicians in the tri-state metro area. My primary care practice is located in Miller Place, New York and serves patients from all of Northeast Brookhaven, including Sound Beach, Mount Sinai, Rocky Point, Coram, Shoreham, Wading River, Ridge and Middle Island. I am affiliated with John T. Mather Memorial Hospital, and if you are hospitalized there, I will personally care for you during your stay. As part of my concierge-like approach to personalized medicine, I also make house calls as needed, and sick visits are almost always available the day you need one.

We have been patients of Dr. Wasserman since 1981. Dr. Wasserman has always been available when we needed him. From regular check ups, illnesses and hospitalizations he was always there for us. We find his presence, especially when hospitalized, to be comforting. The last several years my husbands health has declined and Dr. Wasserman has made himself available 24 hours a day. This past… See more

Doc, Wasserman has been my doctor for over 45 years. Many of these earlier years he was also my children's doctor. I am healthy and fit today because of his professionalism and expertise in the medical field. I have never been in his office, or presence, without feeling very comfortable with whatever ailment I was dealing with. He starts off the medical session with a few of his great… See more

I've been going to Dr. Wasserman for 40 years. The first time I went to see him, I had a condition that had been diagnosed by my former doctor as nothing to worry about. When I described it to Dr. Wasserman he sent me to a specialist who repaired a condition that could have become serious over time.

One of Dr. Wasserman's best aspects is his diagnostic skill, and going along… See more

I did not start seeing a doctor on a regular basis until I turned 50. Over the last 18 years Dr. Mark Wasserman has made me feel comfortable with going to the doctor on a regular basis. Fortunately I have not had any major medical issues, but the minor ones I have had have been treated quickly and successfully and I have no doubt that Dr. Wasserman will keep me on a healthy path.

from James in NY March 10, 2020 for Mark D. Wasserman, MD

I was a person who avoided doctors at all costs until I came across Dr. Wasserman. He was in practice with a partner back then but I always requested to see him. Regular checkups is an important part of being healthy and I would not be doing those things if it wasn't for Dr. Wasserman. I have been fortunate to have reasonably good health and he has been conservative in his treatments… See more

My husband and I have known and seen Dr. Wasserman for about 39 years. He was our school doctor when we taught in the Comsewogue School District and when he started his private practice we followed him.
I have had a number of odd physical problems, such as Thoracic Outlet Obstruction caused by my first rib on my left side causing a blood clot in my Subclavian Vein. This was a long… See more

Dr Wasserman has been so wonderful to me, my husband and my mother in law, Ethel. Hes always been available for phone consultation and in office visits and has always been the reasonable voice of professional medical advice. I very much appreciate his practical good sense opinions regarding treatment and referral. We are relatively new residents to Suffolk and were seriously concerned… See more

More and more doctors are growing frustrated with the traditional demands of seeing 30 or more patients per day. Rather than get out completely or continue at this pace, they are switching to concierge medicine and reducing their daily caseload considerably. After converting his practice to an… See more
