My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

When people ask me why I chose primary care as my field of medicine, I often ask them what they think a primary care physician should be. Most people answer, “I don't know, someone to take care of me when I'm sick.” Although that is true in most of my daily encounters, that is not how I define primary care. Primary care equals primary prevention, which is the foundation of everyone's health. We are so busy earning a living and taking care of our obligations that most of us have cast our health aside because we “feel fine”. In the hustle and bustle of life as we live now, preventive medicine has been pushed aside and reactive medicine has taken over. This has to change in order for every one of us to become healthier.
Ever since I started my journey in the medical field in 1999, I have experienced medicine in many different settings. The one constant piece of good medicine is the partnership between the doctor and patient built on mutual trust and respect that is earned. As an MDVIP-affiliated physician, I am able to develop an in depth understanding of each person's circumstance, which then allows me to deliver a personalized, primary prevention program. Unlike a concierge medical practice, my MDVIP-affiliated practice will provide more than just a physician to go to for treatment; I will be able to screen and help prevent chronic medical conditions from developing.
For those of us that have ongoing medical needs, I am experienced in the management of many chronic conditions such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia and thyroid disorders. However, my passion is the management of diabetes and numerous adverse conditions that it often comes with. I am well versed in the management of diabetes using various modalities including insulin pump. I have relationships with many specialists in our community to help with your unique needs. I also serve as a board member for Houchin Community Blood Bank, as well as the Valley Integrated Provider Network, part of Dignity Health. I am fluent in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese.
