My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

Since graduating from the Medical College of Georgia, I have been practicing family medicine for over 22 years in the Central Savannah River Area. My goal as a physician is to provide my patients with an excellent healthcare experience. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices. I have more time to develop a personalized care plan tailored to each patient with an emphasis on prevention and wellness.

I have my Master’s Degree in dietetics and nutrition and have a special interest in women’s health. I have been awarded Best Doctors and Top Doctors in America. I enjoy the outdoors and love to go 4-wheeling, do trap shooting and archery. I especially enjoy spending time with my sons, James and Jacob, when they are home from college.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Dr Barefield immediately took charge and referred me to specialists who took charge. I’ve had a lumpectomy, radiation, and seeing an oncologist. Thank you Dr Barefield!!

I chose Dr. Barefield because she was willing to listen to my opinions and concerns and did not dismiss them.I feel comfortable sharing articles with her and asking questions.I like the idea of seeing a doctor who knows me and my family; she is my adult son's doctor too!

No long story, no elaborate details. But I’m 76 years old now and I’d’ve long ago woke up dead if it weren’t for Dr. Barefield. When she introduced me to her mother, I told her, “Despite my own best efforts, your daughter is keeping me alive.”

Also: Maybe Tracy Barefield isn’t my best friend, but if she’s not, as I look around today, then I gotta wonder who is.
