About Adam D. Cohen, MD
My internal medicine practice is in Great Neck, Long Island. I have been a primary care doctor for more than 15 years. As a personal physician, I realize that asking a patient, “How are you doing?” takes time to answer. Thanks to the MDVIP model, I have more time to listen and help take care of what matters to you. My goal is more personalized care focused on you.
My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in traditional medicine practices. Because my practice is smaller in size, I can take same- or next-day appointments. Phone calls to my office are answered by a person. Importantly, office visits are relaxed, not rushed. My patients can call me after hours for more urgent matters or when traveling.
I offer the comprehensive annual MDVIP Wellness Program, comprised of advanced screenings and tests that can help identify certain risk markers. The diagnostics include inflammation testing developed with Cleveland HeartLab that can provide additional insight into cardiovascular risk markers beyond cholesterol testing alone. Using the test results, we can work together to customize a care plan. My passion as your MDVIP physician is seeing that you get that individualized care..
Other benefits include the opportunity to reach me, your personal physician, after hours and general primary care for dependents (ages 18-26). We also offer 30-minute routine or sick visits.
I am excited to have more time to help you as you pursue improved health.

My Husband Joe Time has been an Internist Dr. Adam D. Cohen for at least 30 years. Dr. Cohen is the Best Internist Doctor Ever. Dr. Cohen has been wonderful throughout all these years when My Husband went through all these health problems: Lymphoma in his chest, diabetes, High Cholesterol, 2 Stents put in on his heart, Ankle infections, Double Knees Replacements Surgeries, Prostate Cancel Surgery, my husband Joe through them under Dr. Cohen’s Care and along working together with all his specialists doctors that worked hands in hands. Dr. Cohen is a life saver for my husband Joe back into good health and managing every 3 months under his health cares & diagnosis in all his medical needs!
Joe belongs his MDVIP group all the way. The best Decision there is to it! You want a better health care then you must pay a little more along the way! Thanks Dr. Adam D. Cohen for being sooo wonderful to my Joe Time and my whole family. We are very pleased from his services always!

surroundings, attention to detail.Extremely
welcoming.

I received gifts from Dr. Cohen. One was a shake, glucerna, in a size that is comfortable to hold and to carry in my shoulder bag. The delicious chocolate flavor was welcome but, more important, was the fact that it stabilized my blood sugar for 3 to 4 hours. The other was a nutrition bar, extend, which stabilized my blood sugar for 5 to 6 hours. The numbers are approximate since I am not in the same area as the products.
They were most helpful in lowering my desire for cookies and cake and, even more desirable, I have lost 5 pounds in six weeks.
I owe Doctor Cohen my thanks for his advice which has had such a positive affect on my health and my energy level. I have told my friends and my family about my experience with Dr. Cohen and some have told me that they are considering changing their physician to his office. If they do they will be very satisfied with their care.

Dr. Cohen is a thorough, knowledgeable, and caring physician. He takes the time to inquire and let me describe any physical and medical concerns that I may have. He listens empathetically. I never feel that our meetings are rushed or curtailed. He always explains the reasons for any coarse of action as well as the pros and cons of treatment protocols. I received my annual comprehensive examination today that I feel provides valuable information as to my overall physical, mental, and emotional well being. I trust him and his friendly and excellent staff and I am very comfortable in recommending him to my family, friends and acquaintances.

PS
My last blood test in August what is the best blood test I've had in the last 5-6 years or longer my A1c went from 6.4 the 5.6 and 5.6 is consistent with not having diabetes if I can keep it that way then I can get rid of the medication and get rid of diabetes also thanks to dr. Cohen. Because of a low dose of Crestor 5 mg my cholesterol is down to 90 which is a good thing for somebody in my position. Having two stamps you must keep your cholesterol as low as possible and I've been maintaining that and last but not least since April 7th I have lost 38 lbs which also contributes to the 5.6 A1C number so along with my willpower and my determination and my doctor I've managed to improve my health a lot and add years to my life probably or maybe we all know that life is a crapshoot but we can change it for the better With a Little Help from my doctor. Well I would suggest that anybody that has Type 2 diabetes try Ceylon cinnamon pills they helped me get where I'm going look it up on the internet and you'll see that I'm right it does help lower your A1c and I'm living proof that it does work along with diet and exercise in a great doctor of course good luck to everybody out there with diabetes.

So glad I did..
He is smart, caring, calm and accessible.

They are not only informative and diagnosed with brilliance but there is always care and understanding. The staff is excellent, friendly and eager to solve any problem that arises.
I have been going to Dr. Cohen for about ten
Years and I cannot imagine going anywhere
Or to any other Doctor.

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
