About Allison Hull, DO
As a primary care physician, it is my mission to help empower my patients to thrive in life. I have discovered over my years of practice that many patients want to improve their health but need greater education, accountability and support to bring that to fruition. I focus on the science of behavior change to provide missing links for my patients. I use patient encounters as an opportunity to provide more personalized, preventive care with the primary goal of helping patients pursue a healthier life.
In my quest to better lead my patients, I have become experienced in the science of habit formation and metabolic health. I conduct clinical research and serve as an associate professor with the University of South Florida, focusing on these domains. My combined research and clinical experience help me to teach my patients and other healthcare professionals how to use nutrition as a metabolic therapy to help treat and possibly prevent multiple disease processes.
I am part of Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health and care for patients in the greater Tampa Bay, Florida, area, including Wesley Chapel, South Tampa, North Tampa, Westchase, Lutz, Land O’ Lakes, Zephyrhills and Dade City. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices. I believe I provide care both necessary for and deserving of my patients. My passion for prevention, coupled with the MDVIP Wellness Program and patient care model assists me in living my dream of helping to address the trajectory of each patient’s life. Doctor Hull is an incredible doctor. I have problems with my liver enzymes and also my weight. I have been her patient for a couple of years and she has been diligently working to figure out the enzyme issue. HORRIBLE experience. I arrived at 1:32 for my 1:30 appointment, paperwork was finished & they denied me. The dark man at the desk was extremely rude, disrespectful & wouldn’t try to help reschedule. I’d think again before you want to get care here. Never have I seen medical receptionist act & speak such a a way. I should add the doctor even agreed to reschedule. Being 2 minutes late to an appointment and being denied is absolutely crazy.

Finally a doctor who gets it and understands metabolic health. If you are looking for a doctor who takes time to understand you as a whole person and your health - this is it. Her personality makes you feel welcomed and she actually listens to your concerns. She is not a pill pusher. The drawback is that you do have to subscribe to MDVIP in addition to having insurance. But, it is absolutely worth every bit of it.

i have had no problems with Dr. Hull other than it being difficult to find appointments with her. she has been a great doctor. however, i have had serious problems with the staff at the front. they do not care about the patients at all. Oct 9 9:41AM i was late to my appointment (with the nurse practitioner) by 11 minutes and they refused to see me. although there was miscommunication, that’s fine i will take the fault for it. but i had missed school and either way if i had been 11 minutes late or on-time i needed a note showing proof that i had a scheduled doctors appointment that made me miss school. the office “supervisor” was very cold and seemed angry at me and my relative for disputing not being seen by the nurse due to us being late. the reason why she seemed angry was because she refused to even ask the nurse to write me a note because she did not see me. i did not ask for a note showing that i was seem by the nurse, i asked for a note showing proof that i had an appointment which is why i was late to school. i then asked if one of the front office members can write me a note and she said no we cant. i then asked another staff member who was sitting in a chair nearby to write me a note. i just needed a piece of paper showing that i had an existing appointment that day and time. lack of heart.. and that “supervisor” is in the wrong industry

Since I switched to Dr. Hull’s care, I have consolidated the types of maintenance medications and moved to other like minded physicians for care in other areas like GI, neurology, and dermatology. Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
