About Andy E. Shen, MD

I have always been a firm believer of being proactive about my patients’ health. As an MDVIP-affiliated primary care physician, I offer the annual MDVIP Wellness Program, which includes advanced screenings and diagnostic tests that can help to better identify certain risk factors earlier. I can work side-by-side with you providing more personalized care so we can help treat anomalies earlier and better optimize your health. Similar to concierge medicine practices, I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments if you experience an unexpected health event. I am reachable after hours and on weekends for more urgent matters. 

I am board certified in family medicine and sports medicine. My areas of interest include cardiovascular health, diabetes, hypertension control and cholesterol management.  

My sports medicine expertise offers the bonus of helping to treat musculoskeletal injuries and problems. Whether it is helping you achieve an IRONMAN® race, run an ultramarathon or just keep the weekend warrior going, I can help keep you on track to better reach your physical health goals.

I have been serving the Katy, Texas area since 2010 and have developed many professional relationships with specialists in the area. I am affiliated with Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital and Memorial Hermann Rehabilitation Hospital – Katy, where I was named physician of the year.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
