About Ari M. Cohen, DO

As your personal physician, I believe that healthcare should be tailored to you—your lifestyle, your goals and your unique needs. My approach to medicine centers on personalized, preventive care, and I can provide more time, attention and guidance to support you as you pursue achieving more optimal health. As an internal medicine physician focused on primary care, my mission is to foster a doctor-patient relationship built on trust, collaboration and a shared commitment to wellness. 

My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices. I also offer conveniences, like same- or next-day appointments with minimal waiting. With a focus on being reachable and comprehensive care, I aim to prioritize your health in a way that can fit into your life.

My dedication to caring for geriatric and hospice patients for over a decade  has profoundly deepened my commitment to compassionate and comprehensive care throughout all stages of adult life. I also served as assistant facility medical director at St. Mary's Medical Center, where I further honed my leadership skills with a special interest on delivering individualized patient care. My commitment to medicine also extends to education, as an ongoing associate professor at Florida Atlantic University (FAU), where I share my passion with future healthcare professionals, an endeavor that I believe enriches my practice. I enjoy bringing this diverse experience and the patient-centered philosophy to my MDVIP-affiliated practice.

As your private doctor, I am committed to discussing all aspects of your care. If you require hospitalization, I have privileges at HCA Florida Aventura Hospital. While I specialize in internal medicine, I also have special interests in cardiovascular health, diabetes, hypertension, obesity medicine and preventive medicine. 

My primary care practice proudly serves patients across Aventura, North Miami, Hollywood, Sunny Isles and greater South Florida. I want to help ensure they receive compassionate care and experience tailored to their needs.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
