About Bernard F. King, DO, FAAFP
To me, patient care is a journey in which the patient and I are partnered to approach health challenges together. The path can, at times, be easy and the navigation simple. However, sometimes circumstances or even fate may make the road more challenging. I strive to be an asset in educating and guiding patients in decision-making, prioritizing and planning their course of health care.
I very much take my role seriously and am honored and humbled that patients invite me in to their lives. It is a responsibility that I do not take lightly and yet one I thoroughly enjoy.
Healthcare, in general, and patient care, specifically, can be challenging. However, because I have more time to spend with patients during unhurried appointments, along the advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests offered in the annual Wellness Program, I feel we can focus on health goals and prevention in a more personalized fashion.
Patients' insights, more time together, an emphasis on prevention, comprehensive screenings and timely visits can give patients more tools and support as they pursue being healthier.

Reviews from the web
He seriously failed my dad and what was lung cancer was passed off as COPD. Yes, my dad did have COPD but for my dad to keep telling Dr King, something is wrong, I think I need more than just a new inhaler, Dr King still didn’t order him new tests !!
He failed him !
My dad died a few months later of small cell lung cancer. By the time it was finally diagnosed, not by Dr King, but a specialist, it was too late !
Did Dr King call to check on my dad while he was in the hospital for 2 weeks before he died? No!!
You may think he’s nice, but he doesn’t really care about his patients !!!
Update : I did call your office because you asked me to, that was a week ago and still no response. I’m waiting .
Also I agree with some previous comments, employees at the reception are rather rude and they don't seem to care much.
Dr. Bernard King’s care goes far beyond simply prescribing medications. His approach is truly comprehensive and focused on whole-person wellness — combining preventive care, lifestyle guidance, nutrition, supplements, and thoughtful medical oversight.
For over 20 years, Dr. King has consistently provided the highest level of care for our entire family. There was a brief period when I visited a closer clinic due to work schedule constraints, but returning to Dr. King and NP Bessie made it clear how exceptional their care truly is.
With their guidance, my blood sugar, cholesterol, and overall health are better managed than ever. What I appreciate most is their emphasis on prevention and long-term health, not just treatment after problems arise.
Because of Dr. King and NP Betsy, I feel confident about aging well — growing older no longer feels scary, but healthy and well-supported. I am deeply grateful for their dedication and expertise.
Highly recommend.
I always feel like Dr. King takes his time with me (despite pressure from insurance companies for short visits). And I find both him and his support staff very responsive when I ask questions via the app their practice utilizes. The app has actually been a nice improvement over the phone system - I did have issues scheduling appointments previously with the phone system because it always went to voicemail....that is no longer a problem with the app.
Thank you, Dr. King and team for taking great care of me!
I'll always follow him there because he knows his job, and very passionate about his patients.
Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
