My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

Internal medicine has evolved into a complex specialty combined with other care known as primary care. It requires more than a time-pressured visit with a “provider.” My goal is to manage your medical needs by using my 37 years of teaching and patient care at my academic medical center, Boston Medical Center, to better help you improve your health.

My experience allows me to partner with my patients to provide a personalized and academic approach. My prior research and teaching history has focused on hypertension, cardiovascular health and prevention. As a private doctor, I have the time that is needed to help each of my patients be well and stay well. Imagine a practice where you come first - my passion is to make that a reality. The individualized attention offered in my office is helping my patients take charge of their health and achieve their goals. Similar to concierge medicine practices, I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments that start on time.

I am affiliated with Boston Medical Center Hospital. Although most of my primary care patients reside in greater Boston, I see patients from all over New England.

Dr. Tifft has been my PCP for over 20 years. He is the best PCP I have ever had. He takes the time to sit with you and review your results in detail. He is very responsive to texts and calls when you have a concern or a question. He is a physician who truly cares about his patients. After my last physical, when I met with him to review my results, he took the time to research a test I had… See more

I am very pleased to be a member of the MDVIP group and especially to have Dr. Charles Tifft as my doctor. Since I became a member, I have had the colonoscopy that I was five years overdue for and that I was afraid to do. He referred me to Dr. Charles Bliss at Boston Medical Center who did an excellent job calming my fears and performing the procedure. Large polyps that could have caused… See more

from William in MA March 5, 2018 for Charles P. Tifft, MD, FAHA

I began seeing Dr. Tifft about 20 years ago. At that time I was in really dire straits. I could hardly walk, had a difficult time breathing, and was so extremely weak. In a matter of a few short weeks Dr. Tifft had me on the mend and very much like my old self. After a couple of months I became my old self for truly. I felt terrific. And at age 80 I am really doing great. I'm very… See more

from DONA in MA March 3, 2018 for Charles P. Tifft, MD, FAHA

I am a 72 year old female who has been treated for high blood pressure since I was 40.
Dr. Tifft is the only physician that takes time to settle me down before taking b.p. numbers and has been diligent in prescribing medications that have worked very well for this issue. He has a gentle, caring way about him and never, never do you feel rushed. He listens and responds immediately to… See more
