My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
Internal medicine has evolved into a complex specialty combined with other care known as primary care. It requires more than a time-pressured visit with a “provider.” My goal is to manage your medical needs by using my 37 years of teaching and patient care at my academic medical center, Boston Medical Center, to better help you improve your health.
My experience allows me to partner with my patients to provide a personalized and academic approach. My prior research and teaching history has focused on hypertension, cardiovascular health and prevention. As a private doctor, I have the time that is needed to help each of my patients be well and stay well. Imagine a practice where you come first - my passion is to make that a reality. The individualized attention offered in my office is helping my patients take charge of their health and achieve their goals. Similar to concierge medicine practices, I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments that start on time.
I am affiliated with Boston Medical Center Hospital. Although most of my primary care patients reside in greater Boston, I see patients from all over New England.

Charlie has put me to the test time and time again by telling me what I need to do to better control and handle my health and well-being. It's not what he says but the amount of caring and under standing of your particular ills and how it all is intertwined and fits together that makes you sit back and listen. In January of this year, I was away on business in Atlanta. I called Dr. Tifft and told him how bad I was feeling. I flew home and for the first time in 20 years left a program early.
