About Edmund H. Lew, MD, FAAFP
As your family doctor, I will be your trusted health advisor. I believe my role is to provide personalized care focused on helping you live heathier longer and better so you can help fulfill your purpose in life with vigor.
As your personal primary care physician, I will be available to you when you need me, whether by a telehealth visit, at the office, on my cell phone, when you’re traveling or in the hospital, or at home for the occasional house call.
While partnering with you, I hope to learn about all the factors that affect your health. I respect my patients’ perspectives, and they have come to appreciate me as a trusted friend and professional medical advisor. Whether my patients complain of fatigue, forgetfulness or other age-related issues, my approach is to search for and help treat the root cause rather than use pharmaceutical agents to just mask symptoms. I enjoy researching the latest scientifically based discoveries, therapies and devices that can help improve my patients’ health.
As a board-certified geriatric specialist, my special areas of interest are longevity research and age-management medicine as well as women’s health and menopause, men’s health, sexual dysfunction, metabolic syndrome and weight loss, diabetes, thyroid optimization, earlier detection of cardiovascular disease, dementia, sleep disorders, and treatments for pain conditions, including arthritis and peripheral neuropathy. With my many years of experience, I can refer you to medical and surgical specialists to assist in your care, if need be.
My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices.
I am on staff at Adventist Health Glendale, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital and Glendale Memorial Hospital. My patients come from the nearby communities of Glendale, Burbank, La Canada, La Crescenta, Pasadena, Altadena and Silverlake.

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
