About Edward Kocharian, MD
The practice of good medicine is an art of combining up-to-date and personalized medical care for each patient; therefore, providing security of a trusted partnership based on respect. As your personal doctor, I strive to deliver competent, compassionate and proactive care. I take time to develop close relationships with my patients to make them feel comfortable, earn their trust and assist them with healthcare decisions. While there are standards of care I uphold, there are no uniform formulas for everyone; hence, I approach each patient as an individual and treat them accordingly. As a primary care physician, it is my responsibility to focus on the general well-being of my patients, be it medical or psychological.
As a board-certified, internal medicine doctor, I am interested in the prevention and treatment of many health conditions, including cardiovascular health, diabetes, hypertension, nutrition, kidney and lung disease, and emotional health. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices.
During my 26 years in practice, I have been involved in outpatient and inpatient aspects of patient care. I have privileges at Scripps La Jolla Memorial Hospital and will continue to manage the care of my patients if they are admitted.

Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
