Edwin R. Duppstadt, MD, DABFM

We have been patients of Dr. Duppstadt for many years and have found him to be an outstanding doctor. We feel like he is family as he does an outstanding job which both for us and we have recommended him many times for those seeking a doctor. He is like a personal friend and yet he is the most caring physican we have had who spends the time and effort with us to find out what is on our minds and does a complete job on explaining and making sure we understand the issues at hand. We never feel rushed in an appoint to explain our issues and I throughly enjoy his answers back that given to us in a manner that we can understand and feel comfortable with..Great doctor,friend and his staff is always very friendly also. 

This is getting to be a rather old story, but I was unexpectedly hospitalize back in 2011 with acute pancreatitis. Nobody quite knew what it was, but Dr. Duppstadt was the first to figure it out. Over the course of the next 3-1/2 years as I recovered from the pancreatitis, Dr. Duppstadt went over and above any expectation I might have had about having excellent medical coverage. All told, I spent nearly 40 bed-nights in the hospital as a result of numerous downstream complications (requiring 5 surgeries). Amazingly, Dr. Duppstadt was at my bedside each and every day, sometimes more than once. There's no telling how much time it took away from his other patients (though I suspect he treated them just as well as me). A year and a half ago, I was hospitalized again for a non-related reason - liver abcesses - but, once again, there was Dr. Duppstadt in my room again, checking my overall care. Quite amazing, really. I am alive today thanks to Dr. Duppstadt's superior skills, both as a medical practitioner and as it relates to his incredibly comforting bedside manner. In my wife's and my opinions, the man is a Saint and can do no wrong. By all means, you may share these comments with Dr. Duppstadt and his amazing staff, Kathy and Barbara!

In every category. He is very knowledgeable and cures & fixes all of my issues. Big and small.
He very patiently listens to me as I probably ( definitely ) ramble on. And eases my problems and makes me feel special. I always leave his office feeling heard, cared for and cared about. And, with an excellent solution to the issue that I was being seen for. He is the best.
He has surrounded himself with an excellent staff. Nurse Kathy and office manager Barbara are both the same as Dr Duppstadt. Caring and helpful. They too make me feel special. As they are both special themselves.
I am so thankful and grateful to be a patient of Dr Duppstadt.

Doctor Duppstadt has been our family doctor since first joining the practice of Doctor Neil Rosen. At that time, he saw two of our teenagers who appreciated his younger age, sense of humor, and ability to relate to their interests. Doctor Duppstadt was also gracious and diplomatic when meeting with an older daughter struggling with her own difficult life situations. She did not share the conversation, but came away from that appointment appreciative and impressed. Between 2008 and 2011, his office agreed to accept my 88-year old mother on medicare from Indiana as a new patient. She had macular degeneration, arthritis, mild dementia, an allergy to some medications and was a very strong willed, opinionated person, to put it mildly. Dr. Duppstadt was willing to visit her across town at Arlington Memorial along with his office, charming her which Dr. Rosen had not been able to do. That was a miracle. Dr. Duppstadt has always been my favorite doctor and my husband’s as well for various reasons. He has always been able to assess our health concerns and conditions accurately, never failing to send us for further testing when warranted, or recommend us to other excellent surgeons, doctors, or rehab facilities. He never fails to return our calls on a Saturday or Sunday and never makes us feel like we are taking too much of his time – even when he’s on vacation. He says that’s what he’s there for. I can talk to Dr. Duppstadt about anything and not feel embarrassed, including sexual matters or my children. He has taken our concerned calls and quickly made calls to other doctors for us, setting appointments when he didn’t need to, but which certainly calmed our anxious fears. His relationship with office staff is excellent, and we feel comfortable in leaving our information with his nurse and office manager. I know I am not being as articulate as I would like to be, but my husband and I are so blessed to have Dr. Duppstadt as our family physician. We are 73 now, and grateful to have his wisdom, dependability, patience, knowledge of our health history, and sense of humor, along with a great personality. Honestly, I could hug Dr. Duppstadt and his staff every visit. They’re the very best.
