About Elana Nudel Kripke, MD
At Main Line Internal Medicine, my team and I are devoted to providing compassionate, personalized healthcare in a warm and supportive setting, a true medical home. We are a practice that focuses on wellness and health maintenance, and aggressively treats acute illness as well as chronic conditions. My staff and I coordinate tests and procedures and expedite specialist appointments. I am available to each patient during and after hours. I visit my patients if they are admitted to Paoli Hospital and facilitate follow up after discharge. Similar to conveniences often associated with concierge medicine practices, I also offer same- or next-day appointments that start on time.
I am a university trained Internal Medicine specialist with over 20 years of clinical experience in primary care. I have practiced medicine at large urban academic centers and community hospitals. I established my current practice in 2000, and have developed strong relationships with a select group of medical and surgical specialists both within and outside the Main Line Health system.
I bring experience, expertise, compassion, humor and a certain amount of tenacity to bear when I approach patient care. I have found that meaningful conversation with my patients is as important as a blood test or x-ray. I want to know about diet, sleep and exercise habits, relationships, concerns and joys. I base a patient’s health plan or prescription on a synthesis of the personal and the technological data. In short, I treat my patients as members of my family. I believe this approach is the key to effective healthcare.

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
