Eric A. Serrano, MD

I have been under care of Dr Eric Serrano for more than 5 years. He is very compassionate and caring doctor. When I had surgery for Small Bowel Obstruction, he was always there with me not only during touch and go surgery but also later throughout 1 month period of Rehablitation. During all these 5 years, he has been providing help and guidance through my complex multiple medical issues. He is a wonderful human being who is not only concerned with medical issues of his patients but also their general welfare at home.
Last November, I was being seen by his Medical Assistant who went on to report to Dr. that I did not appear my normal self. Though I had no appointment to see him, he came over & asked if every thing is OK. I became little bit emotional in telling him about death of my sister few days earlier. I was surprised when he hugged me and consoled me and hugged me again when I left his office. I did not expect this at all during my visit that day.

Eric has saved my life. During my first visit with him he discovered by Prostate Cancer, that was 11 years ago. This of course has been life changing. Now I consider Eric not only my doctor but also a friend. THANK YOU ERIC.

Since I became a patient of Dr. Serrano's MDVIP Practice ( the Practice ) at the same time as he joined it , the end of November , 2013, I do not have enough experience with him in his new capacity to meaningfully and properly respond to your email. Dr. Serrano was my Primary Care Doctor for over five years immediately prior to his joining the Practice. Since then, in my two visits to his new office, in a few after hours telephone conversations with him, and thanks to the incredible increase in the personalized medical care he has provided, my overall healthcare situation has greatly improved. Dr. Serrano has spent substantial time in gathering my voluminous medical history, discussing it with me by exhibiting it on the wall of his office through his computer, and making suggestions for changes he considers necessary for my well-being going forward. In the prior five years my visits to Dr. Serrano's office were quite different. Recently, at Dr. Serrano's suggestion, I have (1) visited a nutritionist with resulting changes in eating habits, in life-style and in weight loss and (2) increased my emphasis on and attention to physical therapy exercising. In sum, I am now in a much better position to appreciate and value Dr. Serrano's excellent contributions to my healthcare experience.

I struggled with a significant herniation of my L4-L5 disc for months prior to seeing Dr Serrano. Once under his care, he explained in great detail a plan to get me back to better health. Ultimately, I needed to have a microdiscectomy. Although I struggled with the idea of back surgery, Dr Serrano's confidence and relationship with top spine specialists in the Boston area encouraged me to finally have the surgery. He knew me as a patient, and because of his involvement in my care I am pleased to say I am on the path to healing for the first time in almost a year. He was also able to manage the paperwork required for my leave of absence from work. Both he and his staff were amazing and I feel fortunate to have him as my physician.
